yesterday the Bank of England propped up Britain’s faltering economy by the tune of £50 billion doe’s that mean that more tax payer’s money as gone on this debt of trillions if so then the conservatives have fo oked up good style
17 February 2012 at 1:08 am #81458Its called quantitative easing which means they print fifty billion quid from thin air isnt it?
The money is pumped into the economy with the intention of inflating it i.e boosting the economy which could lead to higher inflation which could then result in higher interest rates if we return to growth.
They have been doing this for a while and it doesnt seem to be working-i think we are in a situation similar to the depression of the 1930’s but QE costs nothing because they are creating money.17 February 2012 at 12:50 pm #81489Its called quantitative easing which means they print fifty billion quid from thin air isnt it?

To raise this money we usually sell bonds picked up by China and the middle east countries, we will need to pay it back.

19 March 2012 at 3:24 pm #83526I saw the interview she did regarding Labour’s “big idea” on getting unemployed youngsters into work. My God it was embarrassing.
Maybe she should stick to banging on about equality for women and leave the serious stuff to the men.
