Is it just me, or is everying else seeing certain key words in posts highlighted and having links to pop-up adverts since yesterday.
I’m seeing popups on other sites as well (facebook, etc) that I haven’t had before so it could well just be my laptop
13 January 2013 at 3:52 pm #99881I now use Chrome with Adblock activated, so I get very few adverts.
However I once remember getting a set of adverts on Facebook for mature dating in Liverpool, stairlifts and incontinence treatment. :(
13 January 2013 at 4:25 pm #99884Google ads (and most ads these days) are dynamic, they tap into web sites that have recently been visited and/or searches typed in engines to bring back relevant advertising for you.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
13 January 2013 at 10:55 pm #99892I get that Jason. It’s just that since today (and it happens on my own website too) certain words are underlined and highlighted in blue and if you hover over it, it shows you a link to an advert. For example, in GL’s post above, the word stairlift was highlighted earlier – it isn’t now, though.
Just seems very coincidental that my antivirus/firewall detected and cleaned a potential threat this morning and ever since, this has been happening.
It’ll be something to do with the wife, as sure as eggs are eggs.

14 January 2013 at 1:17 pm #99921And I’m getting the impression that this “MatureDatingUK” site is a bit iffy
When i come on this site from my home PC apparently the lovely Rebecca lives just 3 miles away. However, when I travel to work 15 miles away, log on here using a PC in Liverpool for an organisation that (from what I can gather) uses an IP address based in London then she’s still only 3 miles away – I’m starting to think that she’s stalking me14 January 2013 at 1:24 pm #99922And I’m getting the impression that this “MatureDatingUK” site is a bit iffy
