51% possession from the report I saw ! More pass completions as well !Problem is, Phil, we completed less goal moves than they did.
All this ‘possession play’ nonsense is just that. Nonsense. Barca had about 85% possession against Celtic 2 weeks ago….didn’t stick the ball in the net and so they were beaten.
I really think that teams are getting wise to all this ‘tiki takka slowly passy’ way of playing. I think its all boiling down to how clinical your finishing is….and we aren’t clinical at all. West Brom did us same way last week. Kone perhaps has the ability to be, but he’s off to Africa in January, possibly for weeks, so I think we’re knackered.
Biggest positive today? I didn’t go and waste my money.
17 November 2012 at 9:22 pm #96711It was not 4.0
17 November 2012 at 9:24 pm #96712Its one of the big clubs out of the way. Better now than in the relegation dogfight to come.
Its only the 7th league defeat so far this season.
It was another chance to give Watson Jones and Gomez a run out.
It didnt put us in the bottom three.17 November 2012 at 9:31 pm #96713Another chance to see how CRAP Beausejour is.

It didnt put us in the bottom three.3-nil defeat and Watson crocked with a broken leg. That’s a friggin ‘no positives’ day if ever we had one!
Donny, big club, but possibly their worst team in about 20 years. There for the taking today.
Back to the drawing board for Roberto, I think. Citeh at home a week on Wednesday…..crikey, we’d better shape ourselves, hadn’t we?

It didnt put us in the bottom three.Have to take issue with most of what you’ve said there.
Only’ our 7th? We’ve played 12 and only the bottom 3 have lost more/same games.
Giving Jones a run out in a league fixture is nothing short of ludicrous. It makes a mockery of the competition for places we allegedly have.
Recent performances (even Spurs) show we lack a hell of a lot of creativity/pace in the team. I question the desire of some of the players who know they will be picked every week regardless of their effort/performance. I’m not one for dropping players for a bad game but Beausajour is in a horrible run of form but who is there to replace him? Dave Jones! Franco has shown signs of an increase in petulence and is being shown up by Kone in how to lead the line at the moment. Maloney is another considerably way down on an acceptable level of performance.
Lots to be concerned about at the moment with the team and maybe it’s time Martinez tweaked the formation again as we are very predictable at the moment.
17 November 2012 at 10:26 pm #96717I watched the game on line. We were poor second half.Once we conceded we didn’t look like we had a chance of getting back on terms. As usual.
All that possesion counted for very little I’m afraid.

Well they didn’t perform like Warriors – but perhaps that’s not such a bad thing some would argue !!! B)

17 November 2012 at 11:31 pm #96724Just back after a few beers and glad to get away from the scum filled city ..no positives for me today apart from a good day session.let’s move on it was always going to be a difficult occasion .3 points next week I hope.
17 November 2012 at 11:38 pm #96725Don’t be surprised if we pick up nil pois from the next two games !
17 November 2012 at 11:48 pm #96726We didnt create one good chance today. Not one. We need a creative midfielder badly. Beusajour was extremely poor today, as was David Jones who isn’t cut out for professional football
