Sammy, This gents name isn’t one I recognised until this comment. Got talking to a man in queue for Fleetwood tickets last season who said he used to be in the entertainment businesses. Was stood with his brother, both in their 70s / 80s funny characters the both of them. Could this be the same man?

Owen and his brother were telling me how Norwich was one of their favourite grounds to go to. Used to make a weekend of it. I’m going to Norwich for the first time this Saturday and did wonder if I’d see them.

You would have done, with his brother Trevor and a few others.
Owen called the weekends away following Latics “jolly boy’s outings”.I attended today, excellent turn out the church was full which just shows how much he was thought of by all.
Proper Latics mon, 3pts Tuesday will be the send off complete, R.I.PWas a great turn out for Owen, could only get as far the church foyer, the place was packed.
The eulogy read out by his son was touching and typical Owen Hughes. The tics were at the center of it as you can imagine.From Matlock to ManU

As always it’s the faces you recognise, walking round town and there are frequent brief nods to folk, the wife says “who is that” …” no idea of his name, but he’s been going to Latics for donkeys years”
