      And out……

Wigan Athletic midfielder Roger Espinoza wants to leave the club for family reasons, according to manager Uwe Rosler.

The Honduran international, 27, has started just one game so far this season, in the League Cup loss at Burton.

Espinoza’s family are in the USA and Rosler told BBC Radio Manchester: “I think after he came back after the World Cup he struggled to find an appetite for football.

“He came back and wanted to go back to Kansas, he was homesick.”

      Hmmmm, homesick?

Maybe, maybe not. Either way, no great loss

[waits for the kick and rush, headless chicken brigade to burst into hysterical tears]

I’m a fan of Espinoza but I don’t see it as a great loss.

I think he’s OK, nothing more, nothng less. Quite why he became the next great hope, and the answer to all our ills, I just don’t know.

Actually, I do. It’s because he ran about a lot, sometimes quite fast, and kicked things. Wiganers like that.

Occasionally he showed that something special. His debut at Stoke for example I thought he was excellent. Then others he was just as you say “a headless chicken”

Yep, one chicken doesn’t make a summer

Nope – but it made my Blackburn game.

He had a few decent games and who knows, with a decent run in the team he could have made a position his own.

However, I don’t think he will be missed as he has not played this season anyway.
It will be another chunk off the wage bill also as he is probably one of the higher earners.

Assuming Roger does move on, who will be the last of the Cup Final starting 11 to play for us?

My bet would be Boycey until he retires (which probably wont be long).

I suspect Roger won’t be the only one looking to jump ship if things don’t improve soon !

To be fair to him, he will leave with a number of PL appearances and an FA Cup Winners medal.
For a player of his caliber it is probably more than he expected and won’t achieve anything as great as that again if he stays or returns home.
