14 March 2019 at 1:44 pm #177268Do you really have a reasoned opinion on the sorry state of our club ?.Instead of your mundane “21st place is what we set out to achieve “shit. You really want Cook to remain if we achieve that ? This whole affair smacks of a manager totally out of his comfort zone. His shocking transfers particularly Olsen,Clarke as well as the Cole ,Walker,Macmanaman farce. Some of the worst football I’ve set my eyes on at this club in years. A Team completely bereft of any cohesion and players with zero confidence. An away record I’m sure we’ll never match again ..ever …and still your willing to support a manager who if still in place after Saturday could send our club down and possibly into long term financial melt down. Does your blind faith in Cook overide your love of the club ? or your that entrenched in this 5 month posting “get behind Cook “crusade you are never going to admit that you have changed your mind and realise for the sake of the club he needs to leave.
Or this
Signing Clarke was a punt. A punt worth taking given our strikers scoring record in this division. He may have disappointed but his one goal equals the record of both Grigg and Vaughan in their 15 games between them in League one. He may not be the answer but let’s not pretend they were as if losing them was some key moment and it was Cooks decision not IEC’s. These conmen who have taken us over have no interest in our club as the January transfer window showed clearly. Since their takeover we have won 3 games from 23.
It isn’t surprising really that 5 of the bottom 6 have the smallest budgets in the league. Very rare that someone punches above their weight and does well. You usually finish whereabouts your budget is. More often than not its clubs underachieving and signing crap.
We had a few bids turned down in January so they tried to spend but we were in a tough position to attract players I suppose.
I think for the sake of the club we need consistency. We can’t keep sacking managers and replacing squads. Cook needs to see it out. If we go down then clearly we weren’t good enough for this level which in all honesty we probably aren’t. We are a top end League 1, bottom end Championship side. Similar to Newcastle. Their fans think they should be winning things as well when realistically they are a relegation candidate every season in the Prem.
We need to see where the season takes us and then build from there. If that means spending big bucks in League 1 terms to build a squad to not only take us up but to keep us up then so be it (ala Paul Jewell) otherwise we accept that financially League 1 is our level unless IEC decide to splash money about ala Dave Whelan. We have far too many players not good enough for this level, yes most are Cooks signings but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
Agree Ad. We cant just hit reset every 18 months.
14 March 2019 at 2:55 pm #177270Last night’s results should at least focus the mind on what is required on Saturday.
14 March 2019 at 2:56 pm #177271I watched the second half. Both Rotherham and QPR had zero quality. Those last 10-15 minutes’ Rotherham never stopped battling with their second goal coming from winning 50/50’s.
They forced a corner. There was never any doubt they’d get their head on it. It’s such a contrast to our approach. If we’d conceded we’d have sat back and invited pressure. So many points lost.
But now we’re also in the last chance saloon. Have to show similar fighting spirit. Saturday’s a must win game, and probably one, if not both, the Brentford and Millwall games.

14 March 2019 at 3:19 pm #177273The way our heads drop is a big worryIt is a big worry. So it’s up to the manager & even us supporters to lift them. Let’s get behind them on Saturday.
14 March 2019 at 3:23 pm #177274If we go down and Cook remains (God forbid) I will not be renewing my season ticket. I can just about live with us playing in League One but not under Cook. His style of play and his choice of OAP player is at times unwatchable. I could not bare 10 months of going watching that, I’ll pick my games if and when thanks
No thankyou
See ya. You and filmoss can meet up on a saturday and back against us
You obviously didn’t read what I said because your rose tinters must be that big by now you can’t lift your head up to read.
Not so easy, Cook won’t be here much longer and I’ll find were you sit and get behind them and you . I guess you’ll be the one with the Latics happy clapper balloons with an erection on when the players come out.
Now give them tinters a wipe you one hell of a footballing purist and learn to read ffs fellaEDIT – less of the insults

Well I’ll be renewing, whoever is in charge & whichever division we are in next season. I’m a supporter you see. Someone who supports their club through good times & bad :)
Well done now go and get yourself a Blue Peter Badge and pat Petra on the way out.
I’m made up for you14 March 2019 at 3:29 pm #177276Do you really have a reasoned opinion on the sorry state of our club ?.Instead of your mundane “21st place is what we set out to achieve “shit. A position in the league that I personally would have taken way back in August.
& yes, one that I would still take now.Survival WAS ALWAYS THE AIM THIS SEASON!!!
Olsen & Clarke are only short term deals. Neither will be here next season. I’m not happy with either. But it’s all we can get at present to see us through until the end.
I agree! The management of both Mcmanaman & Cole, not forgetting McDonald has been nothing short of despicable.
I disagree about the state of the football. The worst ever IMO is a tie between swains football & joyce’s football. Though joyce just might edge it slightly.
But I do sometimes wonder about your posts. It’s seems you & a few others (who shall remain nameless) actually want the club to fail so you can jump on here quickly to post your drivel.

Think its garswood who always points to a cartoon about us beating Madrid and people moaning. It’s 100% spot on.

I would appreciate it if you did not use derogatory terms to describe people on here or anywhere please. I work with people with learning disabilities so find your wording very offensive.
In relation to your other post. Yes I will renew my season ticket. But sadly, I seem to have misplaced my blue Peter badge.
