Anyone else heard about the friendlies we#ve apparently arranged?

Benfica (h) Sat 11th Aug.Not heard anything, but to be fair Benfica would be a belter – and no reason why we shouldn’t play them. I watched Inter at the Reebok a few years ago.
We all know wht rumours can be like but i’ve heard it from a few now and just wondered if anyone on here had heard ‘owt.
But, if they are right then i think they are belters to be honest.
I have to say the thought of going to Parkhead (or Celtic Park whichever you prefer) to watch Latics run out there does tickle my fancy !
Friendlies are a joke about as much passion as a wet wednesday in Leigh.
I remember latics playing Cliftonville on springfield park and i ran on the pitch(only about 12 at the time) after a Latics goal and taunted their keeper after a goal went in(very peurile).

I used to go to loads of em but realised eventually that (IMO) as a supporter they were a complete waste of my time & money & gave no indication of how the team would perform or how good players were – I remember seeing Danny Vaughan skin every team in pre-season & thinking we had a belter!! :blink: :blink:

We did have a belter until he got sent down for armed robbery.
