Having just renewed my season ticket i am now having doubts over the reason why. Once again we are selling our best players. Cant blame the players, as it has been said loads of times most of us would move jobs for more money etc…..
But bloody hell, buying a season ticket is like going to into comet and asking for a washing machine, and the bloke in the shop digging one out from the back you have never seen
Its not saying its going to be a rubbish one, it might even be a cracker, but you are buying blind, like us with our season tickets, who knows what we will be watching nexrt season, a top notch Bosch or a Beko ( i am not an expert on these things!) but you get my drift.

We haven’t sold anyone….yet. Bramble is obviously defo going but lets just wait and see about Figs, Hugo and Charlie.
‘We always sell our best players’ is what most people say. Who can argue with selling Wilson and LAV for a combined price just short of £30m? Not me. We can’t refused that sort of money, get over it.
22 July 2010 at 11:21 pm #40858Simple then.
Don’t buy a season ticket.
If you don’t feel committed to the club, then pick and choose your games.
What’s the problem?
22 July 2010 at 11:41 pm #40859And to think last seasons team did the club so proud.
Cough.

The point is I have bought a season ticket like loads of others. The point i am making is we dont know what we are buying are we buying a ticket for the players we have and are adding to them, or are we buying a ticket for a team without the ‘stars’ and some unknown players.
I have said we cant blame the players for going, or the club if they get a load of money for the players.
I fear we will have a tricky season, and if it goes like last season, it will be a huge shame, as it was at times a shambles, a shambles with good points.

But you could always sit at home and watch your Bosch washing machine spin round. It might be a bit dull, but at least you know what you’re getting every time.

Congratulation Craig, for that perfect definition of a JCL.
23 July 2010 at 2:11 am #40882The point i am making is we dont know what we are buyingIf you want guaranteed success then there’s a few season tickets going at United this season after loads of them refused to renew.
Do we want to know EXACTLY what were buying when we purchase a season ticket? If we knew the exact outcome it wouldnt be half as good. We can be sure we will give it our best shot whilst balancing the books at the same time, just like we have done for 6 years.

I’m with Garswood on this.

Exactly. I think the reason why most people renew season tickets is the £13 a game and time saved in having to get tickets for games.
Simple.

23 July 2010 at 3:49 pm #40910Thing is you know exactly what you are buying, a ticket that guarantees your seat for 19 games to watch a football match, there are never any guarantees to which player you will see in the shirt.
