Why? because they aren’t massive names. I will tell you a laughable suggestion, Roberto Martinez, Probably the worst manager of any Premiership Team. The names i have put forward have all achieved relative success for various reasons. Why don’t you look them up rather than laugh at a name.
Let me put this to you. David Moyes, Ian Holloway, Sam Allardyce, Arsene Wenger, Brendan Rodgers, Owen Coyle. Who the hell were they as players eh? But look at what they have achieved as managers. Being a big fancy name player doesn’t make you a good manager. I actually think it makes you a worse manager. Roy Keane, Paul Ince, Ruud Gullit, Tony Adams, Paul Gascoigne, Bobby Charlton, John Barnes, David Platt, Diego Maradona. Do you catch my drift.

8 November 2011 at 1:30 am #73840If martinez was to go which i dont think he will, how about gareth southgate

One thing none have them have achieved including wenger, none have them have turned a mid table premiership side, that always had fighting spirit as one of its strengths, into a team of spineless no hopers who give up if they concede one goal, martinez has managed that in under 2.5 seasons.
8 November 2011 at 1:55 am #73845Im posting this out of sheer devilment . This is what i think will happen,
Bob will be strategically moved upstairs
Barrow and Jones will be canned
A new manager will be employed on the cheap
No players will be signed in Jan with the management blaming our lowly league position as the reason though every thing has been done to sign quality internationals
We will be relegated long before the end of the season
The new manager will carry the can and be promptly sacked
Bob will be re-instated as the mesiah who can get the club back to the big league and will bring back his trusty sidekicks alias Barrow and Jones
The lightside and darkside will renew hostilities
As you can probably tell i havent quite got over Sundays result yet, Sorry ;)

Only joking. Anybody willing to try and support a different style of football is a step forward in my eyes. In other words i suppose, Just a new idea.

8 November 2011 at 6:17 pm #73903Some of the suggestions by the darkside on this thread are laughable to say the leastnearly as laughable as the current incumbent ?

The lightside claim and always have done its not about martinez alone, its about supporting the club and what is best for it, so are you saying this is not true and you would not support a new man especially if as you say “performances improve”
You go on to say “i’m confused”, this is something for once we agree on, the trouble is your confusion is caused by your dogmatic support of a man who is proving week after week he is not upto the task he was employed for.

Thank you for your reply without any abuse you seem to be mellowing you claim that my dogmatic support of a man not up to the task, Yet he has delivered what the chairman as wanted for the last two seasons in keeping us up ine top division
Untill a change of manager I will continue to support the manager at the club but remember the last time a club was in this plight was Derby and a certain PJ took over not a lot changed in the end .
9 November 2011 at 6:46 am #73966dave priestley, never been relegated or took a backward step in his life.
knows the game inside out took a junior team in wigan to champion challengers. who is martinez?:9 November 2011 at 6:49 am #73967martinez wont do what the chairman wants this season ie keeping in premier league no faith in him whatsoever get him out
