Is it just me or are we dragging our heels again with signings ?.

It’s the first time I’ve ever had the ticket office personally ring me because I’ve not bought my season ticket, that just shows you numbers are nosing diving.

I don’t expect Danson to go cheque book crazy but considering the amount of top earners and players we released at the end of 2023-2024 season you’d think there’d be room for one or two top quality L1/Championship players to bring any young lads through.

So first signing? Frazer Murray, I’m like everyone else lets have a look. Been in Scotland all his career, 26 two year deal so unless he turns into Ronaldo overnight there wont be a sell-on.

I say this because this is Danson long term plan, sign youth young improve sell club keeps ticking over financially The Danson Plan which is all well and good.

But Murray isn’t going to force all those on the fringe of not renewing their season ticket jump up and shout:- “Have you seen who we’ve just signed ?? give me that phone , hello that the ticket office?”

kinda lost his way bopping around on loan so never settled. If he signed and he played week in week out and scored who knows we’re the lad could go.

We’ve always been good at giving players who’ve lost their way a chance signing then we give them their opportunity to shows us what they can do.

I’m reading some positive post about Saydee saying he’ll definitely get goals in L1 big strong bully defenders.

So again, if we’re going to be a self sufficient club, pay are own way then Joe Riley needs to work his sack clean off locating the type of players in need of a footballing reboot.

There’s 1000’s of players out there that are good enough but for one reason or another whether it be a manager preferring others or in a poor side or they pick up an injury can’t get back in we need to locate and tap in.

Joe Riley needs to find these and give them a chance. If they do then who knows they could go for millions and that’s the only way forward for us as a club gamble.

Now I wasn’t slating Frazer Murray I hope he goes on shows us he’s a top player who needed a change of environment needing, a break, I was just highlighting he doesn’t meet that club profile regarding selling on.

Come on Wigan bring a few in before July 1st hey, a phone call won’t change our minds but a few exciting young talented players signed will
