Silver lining

It’s been mentioned on this board a couple of times on other threads, but perhaps Caldwell’s three-game ban could be a blessing in disguise in that Mr “I think I’m Maradonna” Scharner is moved back to his best position of centre half.

The sooner we get a midfielder in that pivotal position behind the striker who can pass and shoot on target, the better. Moses is my preferred candidate as I think he would cause havoc.

By the way, I wouldn’t mind seeing our Ivory Coast international given a go at right back following that little cameo run forward against City the other night as Mario’s legs have quite clearly gone – in fact they went some time ago!
