I’m led to believe that tomorrows game is expecting a crowd of approx 18000. Im not saying that im not happy with that, but where have these people been all season.
If people miss games through work (like i sometimes do), or due to other matters thats fine. But why couldnt this extra 10000 that is coming tomorrow have been here all season.
Thank the lord i got in quick to renew my season ticket for next season.

Over half of them will be coming from Barnsley so I suppose we couldn’t really expect them to have come every week.
8 May 2016 at 1:53 am #148447It’s not indicative to Wigan, most clubs encounter the same problem. Look at Middlesbrough & Brighton for instance, both got 30k attendances recently. personally i was hoping for 20k this Sunday, what with Barnsley bringing nearly 5k.

8 May 2016 at 2:07 am #148448This is something that happens everywhere when clubs win something or get promoted. Why did Black pool bring 5000 to New Springfield in their first match in the Greed League yet have only 2000 or so in Bloomers last week? It just happens.
I won’t be there tomorrow cos I do other things on summer weekends but will be at our first week mid week friendly. Makes no difference to me like you Runcorn, when we can go we will go.
Others pick and chose. The brilliant thing is that with a big crowd tomorrow the average gate will be pushed up. Who would ever have dreamt years ago of Latics averaging over 9000 in the third division. Fantastic.
Can we better Nob Ends average next year? Got to be close but they have a huge supply of woodwork supporters who turn out on a sunny day but I bet we are not far off.8 May 2016 at 11:03 am #148453No doubt one of these woodworms will be sat in my seat when I get to the game today as per the last game.
Middlesborough will no doubt fill that stadium again ever week next year but seem to lose 15000 whenever they drop down.
Expect a big relegation battle with perennial lame dogs Blunderland next season!8 May 2016 at 2:21 pm #148455But what do you want – that we play in the Championship in front of 8,500? Or if we should get back to the PL that people don’t come along to watch?
We lost many active watchers over the last few years by the turgid performances. We should be welcoming people back. We’ve enjoyed the ride this year. That’s a joy today’s extras haven’t had. Pity them, not moan about them.

Every single one of them is welcome to come to every game next season, and at the season ticket prices we have set there is no reason not to.
Even if you only manage 12 games you would be in pocket to buy a season ticket. I know 4 people who didn’t renew last season but have got theirs already for next season.8 May 2016 at 9:04 pm #148462I understand the fact that a few will drop off but my argument is to stick by the team no matter what. Still, i think this season proved who the loyal fans are.
Couple sat next to me today & a few behind & it was obvious by the comments & groans they were making, they were not regulars.
