Toney brought down in box allegedly seconds before the greed leaguers go up and equalise.
Gutted but we’ll done lads. Not a lot can be done when officials do you like this.
Anyway that’s another match for us fans to see.
Typical BBC reporter though who said ‘Thats another match that Eddie Howe has to worry about’. So Paul Cook has nothing to play for BBC??6 January 2018 at 10:33 pm #164786Looking at the incident I would say the ref bottled it but Toney should have scored anyway. Another late miss by him.
If we need to take Grigg off all the time we need someone of his calibre to replace him or simply keep him on till the end.6 January 2018 at 11:47 pm #164788Slowing the footage down, I would say that their defender kicked Ivan’s standing foot from under him; therefore defo pen. Hey, we are little Wigan and we are used to this type of shit. It will never change
7 January 2018 at 12:13 am #164790Ally it stinks and it’s wrong. Between the ref and linesman to both be so blind it’s unexplainable yet again. F’ing cheated.
7 January 2018 at 1:32 am #164796It was a strange incident as Toney just went down and there didn’t look like anything untoward, I thought he must have slipped?
Heard someone say he got a push in the back but I didn’t see that. Will have to see on highlights later.

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!7 January 2018 at 9:05 pm #164841Nailed on pen IMO.Without any doubt.
He had gone round the side of the keeper, another yard and he wouldve rolled it in. Penalty and a straight red.
If he thought Toni dove, why didnt he book him then?
7 January 2018 at 11:17 pm #164844Two points:
If he had gone round the keeper on the other side and rolled it in, there would have been no penalty and no card, as there technically wouldn’t have been a foul. Just a goal, which Toney may have been better doing.
And two: There’s a difference between someone going down under a fair challenge, and diving. He could well have assumed he went down under a fair challenge. He can appeal for a penalty, but that doesn’t make it a dive.8 January 2018 at 3:01 pm #164858He’s gone down VERY easily in my opinion. Why he hasn’t just had the shot in the first place I don’t know.
Having watched the highlights back though, how good were some of Christian Walton’s saves?????

Walton was superb Egg, possibly MOM along with Dan Burn.
8 January 2018 at 7:28 pm #164865Wright and co pundit on Motd rekon no pen .Zoomed in on their legs but the foul wasn’t a leg tangle it was a little nudge with his arm which took him out .Yes he went down too easily but Yes it absolutely was a penalty .
8 January 2018 at 8:26 pm #164866As Alan Shearer said about the scouse penalty, not every touch is a foul. He doesn’t push him or shove him he nudges him which he is entitled to do. Toney then decides to throw himself to the floor.
I always try and look at a decision like this and reverse it. How would I feel if that was given AGAINST us? I think i’d have been rather annoyed TBH.
8 January 2018 at 8:27 pm #164867Of course I could be wrong on the nudge by the letter of the law, but in my opinion he is entitled to do that.
