Joint favourite for the managerial post according to reports. Not sure who he is joint favourite with.
20 May 2017 at 10:45 pm #159156The favourite depends on who’s been down to the betting office and put a tenner on

Anyone but a mug knows that betting odds have no relation to reality. Otherwise the favourite would win every race.21 May 2017 at 1:45 am #159167Will be very surprised if he steps down to league one.
As a betting man, I wouldn’t put money on it.

Would a managerial appointment of this nature be of your liking and help you make a positive decision over your season tickets?

Tough one.
3 or 4 years ago, I’d be thinking “yeah, definitely”. But for whatever reason, his last couple of jobs haven’t quite gone so good, although one was Newcastle and was a poison chalice at the time.
That said, if we got him in league one, it would be something of a coup, and he would obviously come with a desire to get his career back on a winning track, which would bode well for us, perhaps.Maybe. I’d sooner have him than Luton fella or a relative rookie. I’ll.be surprised if it is him, though.
21 May 2017 at 1:42 pm #159181One thing that he undoubtedly is renowned for is his coaching ability and we are screaming out for one. Doubt there is any kudos in it though.
21 May 2017 at 4:06 pm #159184If he got the job then I would say that we would definitely come straight back up…..Again!
21 May 2017 at 5:23 pm #159191I have often wondered that had we have appointed mclaren instead of coyle 4 seasons ago, would we be in the mess we find ourselves today.
21 May 2017 at 5:37 pm #159193We ill never know one thing i do know though whoever chose coyle was a complete knob
21 May 2017 at 5:45 pm #159194He is now 4-6 with sky bet
21 May 2017 at 6:27 pm #159198A good coach and would surely do well for Latics as we have been crying out for a good coach since Roberto left.
He may also have some grab in the transfer market and I don’t think we have anything to lose appointing mclaren.
Gets my vote21 May 2017 at 8:11 pm #159204Would be a brilliant appointment but I can’t see it.
21 May 2017 at 10:01 pm #159205If we were in the Championship I’d say bollocks but now we are in league 1 I think it would be a real couple but can’t see it happening.
21 May 2017 at 10:03 pm #159206Predictive bloody txt I meant coup and I’d buy my ST now if they did get him.
