What a journey!It was bad judgement by the manager at the time, just as it was with your purchases of Grant Holt & Mauro Boselli.
He was overpriced at even half that, but having seen Bent & Gyan flogged the season before, and Bendtner return to Arsenal after a successful loan spell, we were desperate for a striker, had pocketed a few quid from player sales. Wolves knew this and had had us over. 94 games in 4 years says he’s a crock. Most of his 23 goals were scored in his first season.

Grant and Mauro, A little hard to give much judgement because I didn’t see enough of them to comment. Can only say it was the managements decision at the time not to play them for one reason or another and I am not experienced and qualified enough to comment on their decisions.
However Mutty thanks for the information, I for one didn’t know he was a piss pot but I think the regime we have running the club now will pick up on this and bearing in mind past signing disasters by previous management wont want to be bitten again.
Oh and fantastic great escape Mutty. Did it at ease in the end. It is certainly being milked up in the North East.Here’s the latest thread on him – the feeling is pretty unanimous on the bloke:
