I thought you said you wasn’t going to have to do it every week !! I guess it worked last time because we didn’t lose or did it work because we didn’t win either !! Can I suggest you just target the strikers !!
Don’t have to do it again. Didn’t have to do it last time. I want to do it and so do many more.
You say “because we didn’t lose”
Why not say “because we took 4 points from 6 and beat Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in our history and became only the second team this season to do so along with Arsenal”
I remember at Springfield when we had to fight to save our clubs existence. We succeeded, thank God we didn’t have to rely on this bloke or we wouldn’t have a team to support.[/quote]Bit of a difference between collecting money for a club in dire straits and sycophantic clapping of players that ironically could have saved WAFC back in the day by forfeiting just one weeks wages !! Think about it !!

You’ll see from my write-up of last night’s forum that the players and manager were extremely appreciative of it and reckon it went a long way to helping them deliver that much improved performance against West Brom.
Personally, it’s not something I’d do as I have other match day experiences, but I wouldn’t knock anyone else doing it and it seems the players won’t either.
Perhaps some egg to be wiped off faces, Phil?

31 March 2012 at 12:44 am #84326I was fully aware what Bob had said re players appreciating greeting but like many have said before re Bob’s comments and statements, he is unlikely to say anything of a negative nature is he when it comes down to his players ! Now where is my keep net !!!
31 March 2012 at 2:07 am #84336I agree he’s not going to be negative, it wouldn’t be bob if he did, but reading the various write ups and listening to the tapes it’s clear that whether you agree it should be needed or not, whether you think the players wages are obscene or not, it actually helped the players. For the club to call on the fans so they can thank the fans for that support and the away support at Anfield, is more than just slick PR, it’s them telling the fans it actually helped.
Apart from the few on TNS who are really not happy they were wrong and are having a pop at the vital lads that pushed it, it’s united fans. As Griff says, wipe the egg off, and allow thems that can and want to to, let them get on with it and enjoy the atmosphere they create. Unfortunately I can’t do it, but I think it seems that the turn out will be bigger and it will help make for a great atmosphere. If it helps get another win tomorrow, then we might just all be united and nearly as positive as bob.31 March 2012 at 3:16 am #84339I was fully aware what Bob had said re players appreciating greeting but like many have said before re Bob’s comments and statements, he is unlikely to say anything of a negative nature is he when it comes down to his players ! 2 Hours and down to DW Stadium for me.
Be there before 12.30. If the 12th man theory is correct, then we will be fine.

Increased 3 fold above the West Brom game.
What do the sceptics think now?
We are staying up !31 March 2012 at 9:24 pm #84363I think that like the team it may be too little too late but hey if you get a kick from it then carry on ! Each to their own. You have set a precedent now as I said you would prior to the first time !

Brilliant turn out to clap the fans in and a brilliant result no thanks to you ya miserable git !
Who was on about that catch 22 dribble for cheering the team on?
we shall not we shall not be moved!!!!!!!!
31 March 2012 at 9:42 pm #84367The boys have answered their critics on the field and done all they can which is great but I just fear it could be too late ! I hope I am wrong but we have to realise that the others down there will be doing the same as was seen today ! I would have been happy going into the next 3 games with 4 pts from the last 2 games so I am more than happy but I just wish the penny had dropped earlier !

In the same way you have trouble finding belief.
7 years in the Prem, two consecutive wins, first ever victory at Anfield. 1 defeat in 8…..
But you still find room to moan.
If our recent form isn’t good enough for you, may I suggest Barcelona.
Out of interest, did you go today? Also, where do you sit? -
