… after my last posting to George, I finally solved this puzzle once and for all. I told Ron Hunt on Saturday that I was convinced Boro played in green.
I was correct.
I have just checked a photocopy of a column from the Wigan Examiner dated 8th July 1926. (A portion of that season’s AGM).
The pertinent sentence contained within it is …
“He noticed that the colour of the team’s jerseys had been changed FROM green TO black and gold – he was against the last change – and hoped that the gold would monopolise the black.” :)
There you go George, Get that 1925/26 photo colourised!
Bert/George/Ron, e-mail me for a copy of the said article if you require it. The person who uttered this sentence by the way was a person later heavily involved with Latics.

Don’t forget though, that the article only confirms it was green for the previous (1925/26) season and not the one prior to that (1924/25), although it may also have been green than.

I’d like to say ‘no trouble’, but I can’t. It took me two hours to trawl through the info I have on the two seasons in question! After my last negative message I gave it just one more go and ‘bingo’!!
Dont want put a downer on this but……….youve seen other posts on here about………………lazy or poor journalists :woohoo: ;)
