can anyone tell me who was the last player to play striker and score and also how many goals this season have we scored from that position,

last player I saw play striker was Drogba yesterday and he scored, does that count?

I don’t think there is an officially titled position “striker”. In practice it happens that one or two players may play a more forward role, but that doesn’t mean they stay there the whole game, or that someone else can’t come forward and score. So I can’t really see what it is you’re asking.

Isn’t it netball where only certain players can score goals or nets or wickets or whatever it’s called?

Not that I know anything about netball of course :)

Well Fergie has been quoted as saying that it was his intention this season to play Rooney in a ” STRIKERS roll ” and all the TV pundits have commented on how Rooney has scored more goals this season from playing in the position of STRIKER rather than midfield so I think it is fairly safe to say that the position of STRIKER is not an urban myth and is in fact an actual football position !!
