25 July 2017 at 10:57 am #160624Massey can play as a central forward can he not?
I think he was mainly a left winger but he didn’t play there at Southport, nobody did. Did he play out wide at Nott’s?
25 July 2017 at 2:50 pm #160628Well there’s a pattern at the moment were forwards come to the club and we basically don’t play to their strengths. We need to play to our forwards strengths. When Grigg got a bundle he had Deli Ali with him at MK Dons.
I get your general point, but Grigg scored a bundle at MK Dons playing as a lone front man. He also got a bundle at Latics playing as a lone frontman
The problem is in both getting the supply to him right & backing that up with support. Too often last season whoever was playing up front was just completely isolated & feeding off scraps.
Grigg can clearly play the role well at Lge1 level so there’s no issue as long as the play behind him is done right. From what little I’ve seen of him though, Bogle looks more like your poacher in a front 227 July 2017 at 8:00 pm #160669Just been sent this…..Bogle tweet.

Gutted to say i wont be playing on saturday. Cant say why at the moment
3:02 PM – 27 Jul 2017I reckon he’s on his way out!
Fuck the EFL
27 July 2017 at 8:22 pm #160672As I stated a few days ago I am not surprised we are offloading Bogle as he’s looked pedestrian and not involved enough for me ,but Hunt as a replacement ? surely not !!!…We must have someone more youthful ,more potential in mind. Then again nothing surprises me any more in our transfer dealings.
27 July 2017 at 8:42 pm #160673Apparantly QPR and Ipswich after him, bit of a shithouse trick to post on twitter, trying to get a reaction from the fans of these clubs
Let him go doesnt look interested to me, shite anyway!
Fuck the EFL
27 July 2017 at 9:56 pm #160677As I stated a few days ago I am not surprised we are offloading Bogle as he’s looked pedestrian and not involved enough for me ,but Hunt as a replacement ? surely not !!!…We must have someone more youthful ,more potential in mind. Then again nothing surprises me any more in our transfer dealings.Feel the same, pal. Cannot be replacing Bogle with Hunt. We have to be br8nging someone else in. Maybe Doyle from Preston, though they still don’t know whether Hugill is going or not, having rejected a bid from Birmingham and Sunderland linked too.
Can we not find another Andy Liddell type of player? Tricky, crafty, can pull a goal out of nothing. That’s what I’d like.
27 July 2017 at 11:16 pm #160679We are supposedly interested in Steph Mavididi from Arsenal on a year long loan dunno if we can get it done.
28 July 2017 at 2:11 am #160697That would cost money and or big wages.
28 July 2017 at 5:21 am #160700That would cost money and or big wages. But isn’t that the point of us getting shut of these fringe players, and now possibly Power and Bogle?
I’m guessing both those players are on around 7 grand a week each, there or thereabouts. We could actually do with bringing a striker in and paying them a ‘fair’ wage. I’d be looking at going to a club and making a move for a striker who is both proven, and a key fixture in their side. Yes, it will cost us money. But it will also be a show of intent and show we mean business this season. There must be someone on the 2 lower leagues we could make a move for, or maybe one of the lower Championship clubs. We need to be a bit more cocky as a club sometimes.
28 July 2017 at 11:41 am #160701All this movement out is to do with one thing VAT and you are correct and that is money. There will be more before this window closes but replacements will be bargain basement or loanees. This may be the season where loan players could make a difference.
Much of this is out of Cooks hands but as far as Billy Big Bollock players who want away well done to Cooky for keeping them out of the side.28 July 2017 at 12:52 pm #160702See, if Power had come out of last season having been named our player of the year and had clearly stood out as being a very good player, you could sort of say “fair enough, he’s earned it. Let’s cash in”. And there’d be a queue of clubs wanting to take him.
But he didn’t. He struggled at Championship level, the pace and the quality was all a bit too much for a player who had looked decent in League one the previous season. The logical thing would’ve been to knuckle down and have an outstanding season this season, and then admit you are looking for a new challenge.
You also have to wonder about agents bending his ear as well. But he was wrong to open his mouth on social media, and was clearly taken to task about this. It could be seen as a way of trying to force the clubs hand.
Bye Max.
28 July 2017 at 3:35 pm #160709I’m afraid I fear for us again in the scoring department. Surely we are not being so patient in the recovery of Grigg and Powell just to maximize a sale. ..Power,Bogle ,Bryne seem to be now in the departure lounge whilst we on verge of signing a 35yr old with 8 goals in 4 years and the season 8 days away. Hope I’m off the mark but with Grigg/Powell either injured or being polished for the shop window I can only hope Cook has a few more rabbits to pull out of his hat as I can feel another transfer window balls up in the air.
28 July 2017 at 4:41 pm #160710Straight swap Grigg for Doyle!
28 July 2017 at 4:53 pm #160711Straight swap Grigg for Doyle!Hahahahahahahaha,
