17 December 2011 at 5:03 pm #76015It would appear from your suggestions and a quick Google search that she was indeed at The Owls !! She is quite fussy when it comes to dining out so her thumbs up means it must be good !!

(never thought you’d hear that from ol’ rodders did ya)
18 December 2011 at 1:29 am #76030The Owls in nowhere near The Bull. Are you sure it wasn’t La Mama or Chadwicks?
18 December 2011 at 6:09 pm #76056Yeah, well done to ” Rodders “. Standish, she said it was the Owls. She now says the Bull is maybe a mile or so away but they passed it and then went down a winding country road ! I got the Owls website up and she said ” Yes that is it ” !!
18 December 2011 at 10:29 pm #76069Im guessing it was Chadwicks standish. I was in La Mamas last week, Blown away by it to be honest. You don’t expect the kind of service and quality of food you get looking in from outside.
Oh any by the way, The Bull has just put their price up on every pint of lager to £2.85 so go down the road to potters or the horseshoe. Wouldn’t bother going over the road, It is fast turning into a drug bar.
19 December 2011 at 2:27 am #76087Fair enough Phil. A mile between the Bull and Owls is about right. It’s much easier walking back down the hill after at the end of a night.

The owner of La Mama is one my mates and his son is best friends with my eldest. It’s a superb restaurant run by nice people.
Chadwicks on the other hand, I wouldn’t urinate on them if they were on fire, although I would urinate on them if they weren’t on fire. The food’s good there, it’s the way they go about business that I don’t like.
I don’t mind the Bull, although The Globe tends to be the pub of choice these days.
Are you a Standish lad Yosser?
19 December 2011 at 5:32 am #76097No but i hang around up there a lot. Mates up there. I shall be there on tuesday after a visit to the ladbrookes for my horses and the shop for a crate of lager.
