Well, she ain’t singing yet but she’s definitely clearing her throat. In all probability we’ll have to get something at the Emirates after tonights result.
With our horrific injury list at the moment I just hope that someone can come in and play out of their skin ala McManaman, but it’s getting harder to stay positive!

The lady on Saturday didn’t look fat to me had a good pair of lungs on her though
30 April 2013 at 2:39 am #111500I don’t see were we have to get anything frumpt themeruts.
If we write that game off and villa do the same with Chelski game, albeit at home, that leaves us with a must win game for each club against Swansea and Norwich respectively.
If villa beat Norwich then fair play to um, but if they lose, that means we then have to turn um over at home and e presto done it again!
Wilst all that’s going on, who knows what will happen to Newcastle, Sunderland or Norwich, if Villa beat um.
Come on boys lets go into battle!

In all seriousness, if he’s fit enough, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him slot in to the middle of a back three with Caldwell and Scharner either side of him. :woohoo:

Jrfatfan,
Don’t bet against Villa getting something off a weakened Chelsea side in a game played 3 days before the Europa final. You know what Benitez is like for resting players. I can see Villa picking a point up…..and that point could send us down.
30 April 2013 at 2:17 pm #111534Ben watson is fit and ready to play, i also spotted Ivan Ramis hanging around on Saturday, so maybe he is due back?
30 April 2013 at 2:19 pm #111535Why all the panic? I had villa to win last night, admittedly not that emphatically. We can’t rely on other teams we have to do it ourselves.
It’s still all in our hands. Win our next 2 – no guarantee but certainly achievable then we are out of the drop zone. We would have to beat villa on last day, again most definitely doable. Win all those most likely we will be safe. Martinez will be keeping the players calm and relaxed and we need to do the same. It certainly ain’t over yet.
30 April 2013 at 2:22 pm #111536There are a million possibilities here, both good and bad for Wigan.
If Villa win all their remaining games 6-1, they will be safe. And if Sunderland lose all their remaining games 6-1, they will be in trouble, as will Newcastle if they continue to lose games 6-0.
The fact is – the results aren’t predictable. Everyone is nervous, and there will be shock results. But if Wigan can keep within three points of Villa, then a win in the final game will save them.
30 April 2013 at 3:01 pm #111548When the going gets tough – the tough get going.
If we beat WBA , Swansea and Villa we should be alright. The way we played against Spurs suggests we can certainly beat WBA , Swansea and Villa.
And if we lose at Wembley I wouldn’t put it past us to get something at Arsenal. That’s the sort of team we are.
One game at a time – bring it on.

Voice of Reason, as usual Squire. I wish I could do that, instead of letting my sarcastic, sneeering side take over ;)

Would they really play a weakened team and risk missing out on a CL place, whilst trying to win the Europa cup?

Not while Abromovich is holding a gun to his head.

Yes. Yes they would.
I am 99% sure going off Benitez’s past selection policies that he will think he can rest players and still win at Villa. He’s reknowned for it. General concensus is that Benitez is more concerned with adding to his CV, than setting up a new manager with CL football next season.
Best case scenario would be for Basel to comeback and beat them in the second leg on Thursday, but I don’t think they will do.
Let’s see what happens anyway.
