I called in the stadium shop earlier, not for the new shirt, but to see what bargains I could pick up for my little lad, as he’s just got into playing. I didn’t get anything.
But whilst in there, I had a look at the new kit, just as they were putting them out. Christ, the quality is awful. I compared the new shirt with last seasons, and to me, it seems LAST seasons material was actually BETTER. I got the feeling the new kit is a more shiny material.
And the neck on it? Awful Just badly shaped and looking. Stitching also looks poor. Only improvement is a plastic, rather than felt ‘188 Bet’ sponsors insignia. Though this will be a nightmare for many a ironing mother, in the coming weeks. The fit looks very dodgy. Saw an average size kid, probably about 10 years old, trying one on, and it just hung all wrong on him and gave him a hunchback look!
In all honesty, very poor quality, again. On a par with the likes of ‘Ellgren’ from years ago. I know the majority of adults are not bothered, but still, anybody paying £40 for it needs their heads testing. Kids shirts are £30 as well. Not good. And also, rather strangely, some of the kids shirts have PRINTED on club badges and ‘Mi Fit’ logo’s, whilst others the same size, have stitched.
All in all, a bit rubbish, really. :(

And don’t worry about the ironing, his mum hangs it over a wok and does it that way. :)
10 August 2010 at 8:22 pm #41964Thanks for that vat. The more I see the shirt the more I like it, but I ain’t paying £40 if the if the quality is crap.
10 August 2010 at 8:33 pm #41965The shirt in my opinion is a lot better quality this year than last and overall is a better design. Best part of the shirt is that the 188bet logo is not that same wierd material.

Thanks for that vat. The more I see the shirt the more I like it, but I ain’t paying £40 if the if the quality is rubbish.Have a look yourself. The quality is cheap, again, and there’ssome dodgy stitching. The neck just looks ‘mis-shaped’ to me. I just don’t like the idea of fans being ripped off, as that happens enough already in this sport.
Kit’s cr@p.
11 August 2010 at 12:32 am #42002I saw it earlier and i think it looks slightly better than it does in photos/in action, however it’s still a million miles from looking like a Premier League shirt. Id consider buying it for £20 (which would probably still make the club a 90% profit at that price), but for £40 no chance.
11 August 2010 at 12:42 am #42008I saw a young lad in town centre wearing new shirt today he seemed quite pleased with it,but it looked terrible something rochdale or bury would have worn ten years ago shocking for a prem club :o
