Yeah, but who appointed those managers?
Whelans time is done. By installing David Sharpe, it allowed him, selfishly, to keep a foot in the door, so to speak. Rather than selling us and cutting all ties.
Make no mistake, the selling of Yanic will have been engineered. It was made out like he had slapped a transfer request in. Maybe he did. But there was more to it than that. Once the club learned of interest in him, and the money being talked, they decided to take the coin.
A great decision, financially. 7 million was literally a steal, for a player worth no more than 3. (In my opinion)
A bad decision, football wise. As we lost our main attacking threat. Is this supposition or do know all that for a fact?[/quote]
Clearly Fabricated my man.

And what appeal does Wigan Athletic have to any potential non-Wiganer buyers?
Whelan has said in the past he’d be willing to sell, but only to someone who he sees fit to sell to. ie. the last thing he or his family want is another Portsmouth situation where a string of chancers come forward and eventually leave the club in the mire.
So in lieu of a buyer, he’s put his grandson in charge as there’s nobody else in the family that either mentally capable or interested in taking it on.
Considering the millions he’s invested into the club and the loans he’s written off, it’s hardly selfish that he wants to keep an interest in it.

Until such time as DW is selling something other than a loss-making squad of footballers, then nobody will step forward and buy it. In fact, he wont even be able to give it away.
In order to sell, he needs to have something worth selling. He does – the stadium. But that doesn’t appear to be part of the deal, nor can it be unless any potential buyer either accepts that the rugby have a bona-fide lease to play there, or said potential buyer is prepared to pay compensation to the rugby club and give them notice to leave.
As much as that would make some folk’s day, the amount of compo involved plus the cost of buying a loss-making stadium and a loss-making football team would be eye-watering.

I’m not disagreeing with you. I think he should’ve sold up after the cup win when there was probably interest.
On one hand, he keeps insisting he isn’t getting involved. On the other hand, by having sharpe in position, he still has a foot in the door.
In think that’s why the club is in a muddle. We are neither here or there owner wise.
12 April 2017 at 5:17 pm #157872we might be only 1 point from safety…It’s not inconceivable, but how many times have i thought along the same lines this season!!!
Barnsley’s record is similar to ours, won only 2 in the last ten. So there is a slim chance we can pick something up.
Brighton, well if they win at Wolves & other results go their way they are as good as promoted. Maybe they’ll go on the pop all weekend and be off pace Monday & we scap a win!!!! (and no i haven’t been drinking)
Too much to wish for in my opinion

Brighton like any other club would prefer to go up as champions!
