A great win and Kone looking like the best piece of business we have done for many a year.
the bus is moving apace now!!!30 March 2013 at 9:34 pm #106757Agreed, but think that you’ll find the chap at the other end, Alcaraz, will prove as critical to the team’s success this year.
How he’s been missed this year !
Return to fortunes has coincided with his return to the team.
Ramis, who ?
30 March 2013 at 9:35 pm #106758Not a great game or performance but sometimes you have to win ugly.
Alcaraz was immense and his match saving tackle was a superb piece of timing.
Kones hold up play was great as well and as for the finish – Brilliant. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Credit to Martinez for starting with Mcmanaman and under the circumstances credit to the FA for appointing Howard Webb as the ref.
Fingers crossed Liverpool and Fulham can do us a big favour.
Onwards and upwards.
30 March 2013 at 9:44 pm #106760Huge six pointer next week -win that and I think we will stay up regardless!

Alcaraz was like Bobby Moore today!
Kone was like……Cyrille Regis? That’s what his goal reminded me of, anyway. One of Cyrille’s, from his late 70’s/early 80’s WBA days.
The goal at 50 secs in this footage, especially. :cheer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-wjh_1bPwk
30 March 2013 at 10:22 pm #106767Wigan seemed to lose their way at halftime against Newcastle. They were lucky to get a win with a fortunate last minute goal, after McArthur came on to reinforce midfield.
Wigan continued in the same hesitant style against Norwich. It looked as though Di Santo might be warming up at half time, but they carried on unchanged. Only when McArthur came on, again in place of McManaman, did Wigan take more control of the game. Their goal was deserved this time.
I think that man of the match would again go to Alcaraz, who held an uncertain defence together. Martinez could look at his bench with more reassurance today. He had Di Santo, Caldwell, Espinoza and Stam to call on. But he was still reluctant to make a change. The choice of next week’s team will be important too.
