Saw him at Goodison. I thought he looked OK.
so did i and i agree with you.i don’t think were in a position to start getting all high and mighty because bob thinks he’s done the slightest thing wrong
Never given a decent chance to show what he can do just like Scott Sinclair and see what he’s doin now ! We may well regret this especialloy after Figueroa’s blunder v Sunderland giving them their 3rd goal.
Don’t forget bobby sees these players day in day out, not just for the odd game now and then.

Well then, please explain David Jones, I think you may find his inclusion in that position blows your theory completely out of the water.
Was actually going to say that I think PVA would have been worth a try in that position in the new set-up
Jones playing as a left wing back is one of life’s mysteries and I am only too sad that Arthur C Clarke is dead !!
Not really LMB. I don’t think JR suggests anywhere that Jones is a good defender, or even Martinez’ inclusion of him in the team is a good one.
Surely the assertion that defenders should be good at defending first and foremost remains valid?

I don’t think it was anything do to with his ability JR. I’d hazard a guess at it being down to an off field problem and his use of a certain social networking site.

That fact that he wasn’t even featured on the subs bench can only lead you to conclude that his return to Chelsea is non-football related.Not really LMB. At that point people questioned if this is correct why is Jones in the side in the wing back position when everybody other than the manager can see he is not suited to that role, infact his defending skill are nil.
So is he saying PVA was not good enough, but Jones is ? You seem to know what he is thinking so perhaps you could explain it.
