For once I hope that Cooky leaves the big guns out of this one. Last thing we need now is Nick Powell and Dan Burn etc having blinders and making the headlines. I would love to beat Villa and owd spuddy and go on a great cup run but I would much rather we keep this squad together and go for the league title again. Whilst I will NEVER hope we lose a game I won’t be too upset if PC rings the changes for this one. C,Mon Wigan.
Same here DJ and that’s a first for me. I would always argue to keep a consistent team but PC is doing that in the league so let’s give some of the squad a run including Grigg and Perkins.
Paul Cook has already said he will ring the changes but said Gilbey, Grigg and Colclough will play.
I am sure he won’t risk many other first teamers, but Perkins and Elder will probably be involved.
The sterting eleven will probaly be not too far from this –Evans

Looks like our second string are weaker than what we thought looks decent on paper, Griggs on his way.Its no surprise to me, our first team couldn’t hack it in the Championship last year, so I wasn’t really expecting our 2nd string to get much from a good Championship side like Villa.
Some of the faces on here look pretty miserable, considering it was 0-0 at the time. Perhaps they weren’t aware they’d be watching Villa youth v Latics Reserves!
