A real waste of an oppurtunity today at Blackburn playing all the loan shite.
Total lack of respect to Brighton and Reading too.
Big respect to Burnley again who played their first choice side at Reading.4 May 2014 at 12:03 pm #130619With our main season over I’ve no problem with what Uwe did yesterday.
Yesterday’s result was irrelevant to Latics but the next 2 (hopefully 3) games are the most vital of our season. Should he have played his first choice side (whatever that may be!!) & risked having some of those 11 unavailable for the play offs through injury or suspension?
Personally I couldn’t care less about any respect or otherwise to any other club. What matters to me is Latics & that’s what Uwe is paid for too
Burnley are in a completely different situation so it isn’t even comparable4 May 2014 at 2:37 pm #130626With our main season over I’ve no problem with what Uwe did yesterday.

Burnley are in a completely different situation so it isn’t even comparableThe season starts again on Thursday and Friday for the 4 clubs involved.
Uwe will play his best 11 (not sure which 11 that is tbh
) on Friday and may need to do so again on Monday. They’ve plenty of time to rest before the final.
I’ve a sneaky feeling Brighton might do one on Derby. It frequently happens in the play offs when the 6th place team sneaks in at the last minute…literally this time!
Don’t mind at all playing at home first against QPR. First opportunity to get the runs on the board and bat Harry out of the tie :woohoo:
4 May 2014 at 2:56 pm #130628A real waste of an oppurtunity today.A waste of an opportunity to do what – play Garcia, perhaps?

Agree with the Brighton bit they have been very very lucky to get in to these play offs Lady Luck hasn’t half smiled on them of late and you need bundles of that in the play offs.
I think the criticism of our manager is starting to get on my nerves a little bit given the transformation since he arrived.4 May 2014 at 4:11 pm #130630A wasted opportunity to get the strongest or his favoured mini squad playing and gelling together for the final push.
I can remember we were all up in arms when Manchester United played weakened sides in the league. One time in particular West Ham beat them at Old Trafford which had a major significance in the relegation battle.
What we did yesterday was no different.4 May 2014 at 4:49 pm #130631A real waste of an oppurtunity today at Blackburn playing all the loan shite.

Blackburn needed 7 and even with our weekened team no chance that would happen – The weakened team contained players that have been picked on a regular basis this season by the way, not eleven kids thrown in.
No way would any manager on the planet have risked his best players yesterday.
And what have Burnley got to do with it? Last game of season, promotion secured, no play offs to rest players for. Irrelevant point.

Lack of respect .. why ? did our defeat impact in any way BHA or Reading ??? … No!
Burnley .. haven’t played 60 games this season, and have no 2/3 Cup Finals yet to play ! Why wouldn’t you play your strongest team – thanks to all those who achieved promotion .. (they indeed DID have something to play for … impact of results, BHA v Reading (the better on the day goes into Play-Offs …)
UR did exactly as I would have expected – see also QPR team sheet yesterday by way of interest, and read Kevin Bond comments after the game
‘one eye on next week (team sheet versus Barnsley)….very difficult games against Wigan’
Lets hope he is right !!!! B)
5 May 2014 at 12:16 am #130642Think yer on yer own on this one Donny. Resting our strongest players, whilst giving our fringe players some valuable game time ahead of the playoffs, in a dead rubber fixture, felt like a no-brainer to me.
5 May 2014 at 1:16 am #130646QPR sound like they are bricking it if you ask me and with a large fine allegedly looming for overspending the pressure may well affect them more than us.
6 May 2014 at 12:56 am #130658Rosler will bring back the likes of Jordi Gomez and Callum McManaman refreshed to face the Hoops.
He said: “It was massively important that some players had a rest.
“I like to play at a high tempo. But we are all human, it’s not possible to do that every three days.”
