ESPN are reporting that according to Whelan, Ramis has passed his medical this afternoon, and they are just concluding the paperwork.

ESPN are reporting the fact that Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Ivan Ramis from RCD Mallorca. The Wigan Athletic chairman is quoted by ESPN sources as saying,
“He (Ramis) has passed his medical and it (the deal) is being concluded. It’s down to the influence of Roberto (Martinez) because the player doesn’t speak English and didn’t want to go to West Ham who had agreed a deal.
“But Roberto asked me to go out to Mallorca where I met their chairman and with the club in receivership they accepted my offer and then I went to see the player.”
Whelan has also insisted that the club hope to make another couple of signings before the opening League game against Chelsea in three weeks time.

Is he any good ?.Ramis, who has played almost 200 games for Mallorca and Valladolid, has been linked with a host of clubs including Everton, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Celtic.
I have a weird feeling he’ll be unveiled at the game on Sunday and may even play 45 minutes for each side. Bit like Ali did in the game against Oman.
