Last night’s ….thing ( cos it were definately not a game of football) was the worst spectacle i’ve ever witnessed at the DW. To make things worse, Sir Bob says he’s pleased !!!!!!
At one point lst night figueroa knocked a 40 yrd sideways ball straight into touch – Bob clapped him ??? although, someone did make me laiugh shouting “What you clappin that for martinez you p155pot?”Time to go methinks

It was a shyte match, you’re right.
But if you think Martinez was praising that misplaced pass rather than offering encouragement to Figueroa then you are seriously deluded.
Did you get Peter Kay’s autograph for that wonderful, wonderful pi$$pot gag?
18 February 2010 at 11:46 am #22970Well stmatts, you hit the nail on the head. Martinez wasnt clapping the poor pass, but to try and support his player and keep him motivated. Maybe thecomedian near to you will work that out before the end of the season !
Dull game yes, but get behind them !
18 February 2010 at 12:41 pm #22976Get behind them???????????????
If they want my encouragement, as I’m the one paying to watch they can give me something to be encouraged about first.
Season ticket holder, but I’m not spoiling my Sunday afternoon off work to watch that diabolical crap.
Last season ticket I ever buy whilst the Spanish buffoon is here. Pick and choose next season, no matter what league we are in.
Martinez is pleased though!
You couldn’t make it up, this clueless idiot needs to be given the boot.18 February 2010 at 1:27 pm #22983Get behind them???????????????If they want my encouragement, as I’m the one paying to watch they can give me something to be encouraged about first.

18 February 2010 at 1:39 pm #22989See ya Ticslad , maybe you can jump back on the bandwagon when things start picking up again !!!
Actually , I’d rather see another empty seat than have someone like you in it.
18 February 2010 at 3:14 pm #23020Well said lads.
Imagine a world where encouragement made a difference, imagie a world where there was only 1200 on watching “that diabiolical rubbish”, imagine we had a manager who cared for the club, who encouraged his players… I tell you the world has gone mad.
As has been said, we dont need “fans” like you, warm fans who only enjoy the good times and criticise when it becomes hard. I would take the JCL fans above those like you who think that you cant make a difference.
And as for the performance last night, yes a very dull game but we seemed to work as a unit last night which was encouraging.

This is not a dig nor is it intended to be a question that tries to trip you up but can you explain that comment as its left me a little confused bearing in mind what i saw last night
18 February 2010 at 3:21 pm #23023fair point, my comment is based on the Sjoke game when we brought thomas on and gomez, the shape of the team was lost in midfield. I thought last night, passing wasnt great which could be attributed in part to the pitch, but as a unit there was support at the back and players going forward. Apart from the first 10 minutes when we were determined to try and give the ball away in the back 4.
I do think that if we stick with that team then we will start to click in front of goal.

One thing I keep meaning to mention. As is my wont, at the end of the game I stand applauding the players off, whatever the performance. There aren’t many that do that, though I am not trying to stake a claim for Superfan-dom by doing or saying this.
My point is, how soul-destroying must it be for a player to be leaving the pitch and to look up and see that, of those that managed to actually remain in the stand until the end of the game, perhaps less than 5% (guess) of them can be bothered to show any appreciation?

I can see what you were getting at now. I don’t think its a vey good unit but I do take your point
18 February 2010 at 4:12 pm #23039See I can pluck positives out of any poor game, I actually work for Martinez in his statement preperation…. or maybe the drugs are kicking in :ugeek:
