Under his own steam or is shown the door, who should take over the hotseat at the DW. My vote would be for Chris Hughton

8 February 2012 at 2:59 am #80843Correct, give the LIGHTSIDER a BIG fat cigar :O)
8 February 2012 at 3:01 am #80845The standing of player’s and manager’s change so quickly, given that I wouldn’t expect Martinez’d position to come under review should we get relegated it appears to be a futile question.
8 February 2012 at 3:04 am #80847We will see, time stands still for neither man or beast ;)
8 February 2012 at 3:18 am #80849I think Martinez will stay when we get relegated, and he will probably do a decent job back at his level.
I just hope he rebuilds wisely and that includes his backroom staff.
The championship is a tough league but with our finacial position as it is, there should be enough money available to have a good go at bouncing straight back.8 February 2012 at 3:23 am #80851So we let him have a go in the championship at his level you say, fair enough, lets say we get promoted with him in charge, then he is not at his level and we back to square one :(

8 February 2012 at 3:33 am #80856We would be going up with a team used to winning football matches.
He would be more experienced himself as a manager.
With proper coaches and a more experienced assistant he would have a better chance than he has had with a team used to losing that are being coached by third division players.8 February 2012 at 4:01 am #80859Night night standish, be gentle with your teddy, thats a good LIGHTSIDER goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost goodpost

The buck for poor training, tactics, formations etc.. lies with the manager & not his assistants
If he needs other people in to tell him what to do then he shouldn’t be in the job in the first place8 February 2012 at 12:23 pm #80864Under his own steam or is shown the door, who should take over the hotseat at the DW. My vote would be for Chris Hughton :ohmy:To be honest who knows who will be in football management in 10 years when Martinez moves on.

8 February 2012 at 3:21 pm #80870I think the majority of our squad are of Championship class as we speak ! The better ones will no doubt move on and even in the Championship WAFC will not be a big draw for footballers who feel they can move in the right direction career wise ! Its a catch 22 situation and the current circumstances don’t bode well for us. The squad we came up with in my opinion were better than the squad we have now and they had passion. It was all to do with a goal that the club had set its sights on and everyone from top to bottom shared the same vision and passion. That passion has long gone in my view and all the momentum and feel good factor have waned somewhat ! Money talks in the top tier and unfortunately money attracts mercenaries who will play for themselves and not their respective clubs and herein is one of the big problems ! I fear if/when we go down we will not bounce back and will in fact struggle because the current tactics will no doubt be adhered to and that would not help us in that division. “Swansea did it” I hear some say….They played with 3 strikers and sometimes even had 4 upfront and moved the ball a hell of a lot quicker than what we do !
