From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!6 March 2012 at 12:43 am #82585we would get a free kick just outside the box and we would all be celebrating like we had Won a Penalty. that was how good Tony Kelly was from a free kick. At least he gave a shit which you can not say about 75% of what we have now.

I was jumping for joy when we won that penalty and it was worse than Charlie Adams’s in last weeks CCF. :woohoo:

Tony Kelly was a Bolton Player(before or after is tenure at the club, i can not remember?) but i have happy memories of him in the season we got to the quarter finals of the FA cup.The game against Bournemouth sticks in the noggin as did some Latics players have special things on their studs to stop them sliding around.Tony got a free kick in that game and that was one of the occasions where all the Latics fans jumped up and down like we got a penalty. He scored like a penalty as well. was it 4-0 the final score?.It was the 2ND round and then we had a big delay before we played Gillingham in the 3rd round.
6 March 2012 at 1:16 am #82599Tony Kelly now, at 15 or 16 stone would be more use than McCarthy and Gomez are at the moment.
6 March 2012 at 1:24 am #82600Tony Kelly now, at 15 or 16 stone would be more use than McCarthy and Gomez are at the moment.how do you know Paul that he is 15 or 16 stone now?. He was carrying timber back in the day but from a set piece at the level the club was at then he was brilliant. Rose tinted spectacle time on my part but at least he gave a SHITE!!!
6 March 2012 at 1:55 am #82615The last time I saw him at the DW he looked like he’d had an extra pie or two, but you are right, he was a genius with his free kicks.
