With news today of three current Latics Directors stepping down at the end of this season along with Dave Whelan, are we making room on the Board for new investors ?. I don’t know whether there are limits or max/ min numbers required on Football club Boards, maybe others on here may know?

I suspect it might be a case of three wealthy older gentleman not wanting to sit on a board with a 23 year old chairman – who’s been handed his position on a plate.
I way be wrong, but imagine how you’d feel of you were one of those three and young Mr Sharpe takes the helm.
I don’t know or whether it’s ever been revealed as to how much of a contribution those particular Directors have made, or if they were just brought in as friends of DW. However, it was always going to happen that DW was going to step down sooner rather than later and no doubt he had discussed that decision with the whole board over the current season. I still think we will see some new faces at board level at Latics, just hope whoever that is bring something positive to our club.
The years in the PL (mark I) and the FA Cup win are now safely lodged in the memory banks. It is time to move on, to new times and hopefully experiences ahead.
