Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused to griff (legend)
Standish Walkers Crisps? Very clever play on words.
Now, I’ll be very impressed if you can tell me what/who my username refers to.

Aw, leave him alone. Just because he didn’t call you a legend. ;)
8 June 2010 at 7:42 pm #36350Back on Topic please!
What’s got a hazelnut in every bite……..?
…………………or should this be a seperate teaser thread question?
Squirrels don’t solely eat and live on Hazelnuts, therefore your teaser is not accurate.
Thank you Mr Oddie for that ‘Autumnwatch’ moment………I am better informed but none the wiser.
Pray tell me where I intimated, in my question above, that it had anything to do with squirrels, the answer could have been…….
…………………a hazelnut. :?
You really must keep up you know.
8 June 2010 at 7:53 pm #36360The answer you intended was squirrel though wasn’t it?
8 June 2010 at 7:55 pm #36362Awww. I just wanted to blurt out the word poo, or busters.
Clever clogs Sammy always gets to clean the blackboard.
Yippee. I’m the teacher’s pet, a squirrel.
(Edit – just thought I’d better put that apostrophe in….!)
Why did you edit it to put the apostrophe in and make it wrong?
It was right before the apostrophe.. As with the apostrophe in it would mean ‘Teacher is pet’ shortened.. Which would make no sense in the context in which you used it.
8 June 2010 at 8:05 pm #36368The answer you intended was squirrel though wasn’t it?Thank you Mr Geller for that insight into ‘mentalism’……….I am better informed but none the wiser.
No! That is not what was intended as it wouldn’t have made sense.
RTFQ……..

Oh dear, Jimmy. Go to the back of the class. You never heard of an apostrophe to indicate possession?

Griff… It is wrong.. Why haven’t you quoted what he actually put? Was you hoping that people don’t look back at it?… I’m telling you now that the apostrophe.. used where he used it..Is wrong..End of!
8 June 2010 at 8:43 pm #36381“Teacher’s pet” has an apostrophe.
An apostrophe is used to denote possession (John’s book, Roberto’s selections etc) or omissions (He’s not very bright, I’ve given up).
Simples.
8 June 2010 at 8:49 pm #36385I apologise unreservedly
I knew about it being used for possesion but was quite adamant that there was no need for one to be there.. Not actually sure why.
See that Griff? I admitted my mistake and that I was wrong.. You could learn to ‘man up’ and do the same when proven wrong.

Never been wrong where you’re concerned. Not once. Even the occasions where you have been convinced you were right, you were wrong. I gave up wasting my time trying to explain it to you.
Perhaps an idea would be to stop correcting people about spelling and grammar when you aren’t that good at it yourself.
8 June 2010 at 10:36 pm #36404I’m rapidly losing the will to live……
Text messaging is firmly to blame.

I couldn’t have said it better myself
Thanks Sammy
