Good to see one of the ones with a foot in both camps  claiming on the WW messageboard that if Paul Wellens celebrated at a Latics match like he celebrated St Helens victory yesterday (celebrated by kicking the ball into the crowd no less) he’d have been “killed” rather than just been pelted with coins.
Which makes it all ok and justified then……………………

The total destruction of the pitch and constant vandalism to it,together with the antisocial behaviour drunkenness, missile throwing, hooliganism, etc of their supporter’s.
Do your duty DW,evict our Troublesome Tenants :mrgreen:Did you see the pitch before and after the game? I did and it was in much better condition than it was during the football season.
21 June 2010 at 12:15 pm #38121It’s probably best not to argue with the rugby hooligans any more, the yobs will probably assault you with a lunchbox or throw ale over you if you don’t agree with them.
It’s not a one off either, they’ve been acting up all season. They might not be the town’s top sporting attraction any more, but there’s one crown they’ve DEFINITELY taken.
Wigan Goon Squad beware, the Ellgren Elite have taken your manor

It is wise not to feed them after midnight I am told
23 June 2010 at 12:34 am #38225There was more action, passion, commitment, entertainment in those 80 minutes than in the whole Football World Cup.
Paul Wellens summed it up perfectly in his post match interview.

If this is true why does nobody watch rugby league?

A bit like when Hindley Celtic used to play Hindley Town Reserves in the Wigan Ammy League
23 June 2010 at 1:22 am #38234It’s making the news now

So how can you comment on something you didn’t see, or were you glued to the tv and can’t admit it?The Football World Cup has been over hyped rubbish. The pundits and press have hammered it.
The Wigan v Saints game was superb entertainment. My Saints supporting son in law was a guest in one of the hospitality suites. With him was someone who had never been to a RL game before, he was amazed at passion, skill and commitment of the players.
23 June 2010 at 1:53 am #38239In reply to rogue yes i was there,(read all this thread) i was on row a west stand about 12 seats from the dug out! And to say its the biggest game in rugby league i was quite frankly disappointed with the atmosphere! Happy clappy to say the least! But i must admit i loved it when the saints fans sang there,s only one team in wigan!

But back to the discussion did you think there was passion, commitment and excitement in the game that you hasn’t been displayed in the Football World Cup.
How do you think Rooney and co would have managed in that Wigan v Saints game?
