If Latics did go down I can’t see how it could be positive at all. What’s the level of debt currently at? How many fans would stop going? How many season tickets wouldn’t be renewed?
That’s why there’s so much hysteria from some of the whoppers on here. If we did sink down to ” the depths of the Championship ” a good many of our ” fans ” , including many on here , wouldn’t be seen again.
It would be so embarrassing for them , telling their family and friends that they were United or LFC fans again. [/quote]
The same ‘fans’ who are helping to pay the millionaires’ currently wearing the blue and white? If they didn’t feel embarrassed about switching to Latics I can’t see them feeling bad about sliding back.
24 February 2010 at 12:56 am #24111i dont think our massive support is paying the wages. might pay hotels bills, but I doubt even that.

24 February 2010 at 2:43 pm #24159Despised and hated the Premier League and top clubs before we were in this league and still do. Only thing enjoyable about it ,is to continuously survive and take the pizz another day. To survive again (AND REALLY THAT’S ALL WE PLAY FOR) would be worth it, just to annoy all the MOTD pundits and twopence halfpenny journalists who cover us, and live for our demise. It is good to be in this pathetic, greedy, money lead league just for that.
24 February 2010 at 4:47 pm #24169I don’t think I will be too bothered about dropping down a division. Or at least the disapointment would be shortlived. The Wolves away was a reminder about the type of away day experience we’ve been missing.
On another point – this thread is a great example of the way that decent posts get spoilt by morons….then you get the petty arguments. Most people are not that bothered about these squablings. I’m not.

24 February 2010 at 10:15 pm #24212It would be good in the Championship getting more wins than losses.

some of our fans won’t be happy until we’re back we’re we ‘belong’ in the lower leagues, i’ve heard a few people say it, its a shame we haven’t shaken off this mentallity after being in the prem for 4 years or so, just look at ho wmany went to notts county compared to other away, me personally i hope we stay up for as long as possible
25 February 2010 at 11:05 am #24233I would certainly miss a league that is obsessed with Champions league qualification and relegation battles.I would also miss the disregard shown to cup competions and the 12 clubs who fight relegation each year to the detriment of everything else i.e europe, cups.
It would be terrible to have more games to watch and away trips to places like Preston,Sheffield,Leeds etc.How awful would it be to have to compete in the cups seriously and watching players who are hungry and motivated?
Dont want any of that thank you? :shock:25 February 2010 at 11:19 am #24234Stay in the prem…grow the support and move onwards and upwards I say….
Championship would be terrible – A friend who is a Boro fan will testify to that!
