All our family are musical in some way or other. Even Our Jeff ( Bob On The Moon ) is a talented keyboard player and self taught just as I am a self taught guitarist. My Grans cousin was Eddie Calvert the trumpet player from back in the 50s ! He had a No.1 in the charts ya know !!

2 April 2010 at 2:07 am #28241What guitars have you got Fil?
2 April 2010 at 3:49 am #28244Only 2 now, my trusty Yamaha acoustic and my Rickenbacker 330 12 string !!
2 April 2010 at 4:00 pm #28283Rickenbacker’s are class guitars.
I used to have an authentic Fender USA Strat. Then I swapped it for a Gretsch 6120, Like Cochran/Setzer. Trouble was, I found it quite hard to play, as the neck was chunky, and my hand is a bit like Beadle’s. Plus, for someone playing pubs and clubs, taking such a guitar to many venues is risky as anything. A lot of people on the scene play, ahem, ‘replica’ guitars, so as to not incurre the risk.
Now, I just play an Adam Black Electro-Acoustic, and have a strat copy at home, that cost me a couple of ton. It serves my purpose, just dickin about with it. Plus, if I want to lay down any multi tracks, a mate of mine has a big guitar collection.
2 April 2010 at 7:38 pm #28320Too old for you James !! she is 28 !You’re right. She’s over 10 years too old
Your cousins band was probably one of the bands that asked VAT69 to be the lead singer but he said no as he does not want to sell out and get too famous.
2 April 2010 at 8:05 pm #28322I’ve got a 60th anniversary Strat, completely wasted on me but when a proper guitarist plays it, it sounds amazing.
4 April 2010 at 2:38 am #28511Only 2 now, my trusty Yamaha acoustic and my Rickenbacker 330 12 string !!I’ve still got a ’74 Strat, that rarely comes out of its case these days. Used to have the Strat, an SG and a Firebird. I had a dream, but not the talent to match!
