It’s that time of year where we on Cockney Latic can decide who we think has been the Wigan Athletic player of the 2010 – 2011 season, there has been ups and downs, but hopefully we will see Latics have their seventh season in the Premier League.

It has been a very frustrating season and one which for Latics will go down to the last game of the season (hopefully). After a disastrous start we managed to pull some results together without playing particularly well.

But after Christmas the performances have taken a huge upturn and it is fair to say that for one reason or another we haven’t got the results we deserved out of many of our last dozen games or so.

Bad luck, no rub of the green and an amazing amount of possession that didn’t result in goals are just some of the reasons/excuses, but we still have two games to go, we may even see the mighty Hammers be relegated at our ground on Sunday, I really hope we see it anyway.

We are still in with a chance of staying up and the endeavour and performance of the players can’t be disputed. Two wins would almost certainly guarantee a seventh year; a win and a draw could be enough.

But for now we would like to ask you to vote for your ‘Player of the Season’ by going to the home page (click here) and clicking on the player you feel has been the best on the voting form on the right, you’ll have to scroll down a bit.
