How do the experts see Wigan Athletic’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, let’s have a look at how the pundits and bookies see this game going at the weekend….
Mark Lawrenson has for the first time since the opening game, gone for a Latics win at the DW Stadium on Saturday. The BBC pundit has gone for a 2-1 home win and he is currently lying 6th in the Cockney Latic Prediction League and that shows that he knows his stuff.
He said about his prediction; Neither of these two teams have enjoyed the best start this season but Wolves, for one, are not a bad side at all. They are certainly competitive but the trouble is they don’t score many goals – a fact underlined by last week’s loss to Aston Villa when they probably deserved more.
Not scoring enough goals is something that can often change against Wigan… but I don’t think so this weekend. Bearing in mind the Latics’ draw and clean sheet against Birmingham last week – which came on the back of a home win over Preston in the Carling Cup – I just fancy the hosts in this one.
Of the Prediction League users (sponsored by Workit Recruitment) 30% are going for 2-0 to Latics, 12/1 on Betfair. Latics need to start gaining points at home, it is what let us down last season as gaining points at home makes life so much easier.
Betfair, the fastest growing betting site in the UK, they have it going the way of a 1-1 draw with odds of 6/1, 3-0 to the Latics is at 31/1 and 2-1 to Latics an 9/1 punt.
We are favourites to win game, just at 11/8, so if betting is something you do, maybe a try of Betfair is something to consider.
Registration is easy, the odds are usually better than anywhere else (if there not you can ask for better) and to round it off, if your first bet loses they will refund it for you up to the value of £25. For instance, if you have £25 on Latics to beat Wolves 2-0 at 12/1 you will be paid £325, if Latics don’t win – you get your £25 back.
