How do the experts see Wigan Athletic’s game against Chelsea, let’s have a look at how the pundits and bookies see this game going at the weekend….
Mark Lawrenson has gone for a 2-0 Chelsea win at the DW STADIUM on Saturday. The BBC pundit is currently doing cack in the Cockney Latic Prediction League but generally over the season he fairs OK.
He said about his prediction;
Wigan were shambolic last weekend, losing 4-0 at home to Blackpool. The Premier League season started with me saying there are no easy games in the top flight but I may have to change that view after that display from Roberto Martinez’s side. They were one of my tips to get relegated and they will get torn apart by teams if they don’t improve.
Chelsea, who began the defence of their title with a 6-0 demolition of West Brom, will be too strong in every department for Wigan. The first half a dozen games do not strike me as the most taxing for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, so it looks like they can ease themselves into the season. A comfortable win for the champions.
Of the Prediction League users (sponsored by Workit Recruitment) 13% are going for 3-0 to Chelsea, 17/2 on Betfair. It is no doubt a massive game against Chelsea, but as we have proved in the past, we generally play better against the big teams and with the incentive of last season result, we will hopefully give them a game and get a result.
Betfair, the fastest growing betting site in the UK, they have it going the way of a 2-0 Chelsea victory with odds of 6/1, 2-0 to the Latics is at 130/1 and 2-1 to Latics an 47/1 punt.
We are favourites to lose game at 1/4, but if you think we’ll nick we have odds of 15/1. So if betting is something you do, maybe a try of Betfair is something to consider.
Registration is easy, the odds are usually better than anywhere else (if there not you can ask for better) and to round it off, if your first bet up to £25, is free. For instance, if you have £25 on Latics to beat Chelsea at 15/1 you will be paid £400, if Latics don’t win – you get your £25 back.
