How do the experts see Wigan Athletic’s game against Tottenham Hotspur, let’s have a look at how the pundits and bookies see this game going at the weekend….
Mark Lawrenson has gone for a 3-0 Spurs win at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
He said about his prediction; Spurs will still be buzzing from Wednesday’s win over Young Boys which secured their place in the Champions League and, such is their strength in depth, they’ve got the luxury of being able to change their team around. Whether or not they bring in Roman Pavlyuchenko and Robbie Keane for Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe, they’ll still be overwhelming favourites to see off Wigan, especially as it’s at White Hart Lane.
I thought Wigan’s defending against Chelsea was even more desperate than Blackpool’s at Arsenal; their back four resembled a bunch of strangers who had just met up in the car park an hour before the match. At the start of the season we said the great thing about the Premier League was that there were no easy games but, looking at the way some teams have started the season, I’m not so sure.
Of the Prediction League users (sponsored by Workit Recruitment) 16% are going for 2-0 to Tottenham, 7/1 on Betfair.
Betfair, the fastest growing betting site in the UK, they have it going the way of a 2-0 Spurs victory with odds of 7/1, 2-0 to the Latics is at 130/1 and 2-1 to Latics an 45/1 punt.
We are favourites to lose game at 1/4, but if you think we’ll nick we have odds of 6/1. So if betting is something you do, maybe a try of Betfair is something to consider.
Registration is easy, the odds are usually better than anywhere else (if there not you can ask for better) and to round it off, if your first bet loses they will refund it for you up to the value of £25. For instance, if you have £25 on Latics to beat Spurs at 6/1 you will be paid £175, if Latics don’t win – you get your £25 back.
