Annual Awards Dinner, Wednesday 18th May 2011 – Wigan Athletic’s spectacular awards dinner took place once again and it was a night to remember for all who attended.
This was the fans chance to celebrate with their heroes on what has been another great season in the best league in the world. One thing that was on everyones mind was what is to come on Sunday afternoon.
However, that did not put anyone off and a fantastic evening was had by all. The evening began with all in attendance being shown a selection of goals which were to contend for goal of the season. Each goal, like they were on the day, celebrated with a cheer.

There was a great atmosphere throughout and it has to be felt that the best player definitely won the top award. Ali Al Habsi has put in fantastic performances all season and this is just rewards for the hard work and effort he has put in for the team since his loan move from Bolton.
Karen Fulton and Jason Taylor presented Ali with the away supporters player of the year which is a fantastic accolade as this is voted by the fans who travel week in week out.
Let’s hope that the players are spurred on by the evening and deliver at Stoke.
