Wigan Athletic have seen themselves drift back into a relegation spot with results going a bit daft yesterday, but nothing that a result of either persuasion against Arsenal will not sort out.
Arsenal is on a massive high at the moment with dragging themselves back into the Championship race and with a huge 3-1 win over Chelsea on Monday.
Latics are also riding a wave at the moment as our under strength team saw off Wolves, though it probably should have been more convincing.
A repeat of the heroics of last year’s result will be strong in the minds of both teams and we will want to see more of the same commitment and of course the score line would be nice as well.
We will have Hendry and Thomas back for this one and by all reports, the Arsenal captain will be missing, but any way this will be a tough match for us, they always are against the top teams.
Kickoff is only a couple of hours away and Lee Probert will be officiating. He has 12 Premiership game under his belt so far, dishing out 35 yellow cards and 4 red cards so far, including three amazing cards in the game that he let Manchester City beat us in.
Let’s be positive about this, any result is a bonus against teams of this calibre, though we do seem to turn it on more against them. The result of this won’t define our season, but we could do with a boost ahead of Sunday’s game against Newcastle, so a good performance would be great.
