Did anyone else notice him heading straight for the tunnel, after our win against Norwich, gaining another 3 points in our fight, his attitude is appalling, this after several other, episodes where when substituted, he has done the same, when I dont think Usain Bolt, would have caught him, in fact the management team, have hauled him back, to sit on the bench, with his team, mates, previously, why doesnt Bobby use the kid from Man Utd, Hernandez, this has been a loan move for me, just as bad as the Scott Sinclair one, and the dutch full back, we got from Chelsea Patrick Van, whatever his name was, if were not going to utilise them why sign them, unless of course there Parent clubs are subsidising, their wages
3 April 2013 at 2:49 am #107360No, i can’t say, that i did notice him, run off at the end,
Personally, i think, we need to let him go, and bring another one in, in the summer3 April 2013 at 2:52 am #107362I think he will be gone in the summer seems to be getting the Hugo/Momo treatment
3 April 2013 at 2:59 am #107364Not sure if he is getting ‘treatment’ as Kone and Maloney are working well. If however he has done what momo and Hugo did and is currently sitting waiting for his big signing on fee in the summer then leave him on the bench. Easy choice for bobby at the end of the day
3 April 2013 at 3:09 am #107369he is a good player just inconsistant and kone is playing a lot better and scoring more goals so ita an easy choice on who to pick !
3 April 2013 at 4:02 am #107386I’d say the choice is really between Gomez and Di Santo.
Martinez started with the Everton team for the next two league teams. But against Newcastle the winning goal was only achieved after McArthur and Di Santo came on. Against Norwich, the winning goal was scored after McArthur came on – Di Santo only came on at the end.
McArthur strengthens midfield and allows Gomez to play further forward. But this is where he competes with Di Santo. So McArthur and Di Santo are still both in Martinez’ plans, and will have a big contribution to make during the rest of the season.
We can’t say who is going to leave over the summer. I’d like to see them all stay. They know each other and they know how Martinez likes to play.
3 April 2013 at 4:10 am #107387Sometimes it can be that the player is disappointed at being taken off or only used for the last 20 seconds. I think Di Santo comes into that category tbh. He would run all day if we asked him too.
3 April 2013 at 2:22 pm #107408Di Santo wasn’t selected for the starting team against Newcastle. He sat on the bench and came on when the score was 1-1. He had just 10 minutes to make a difference, and he did.
Again he wasn’t in the starting line line-up for Norwich. He sat on the bench and only came on very briefly at the end for Kone.
He does what he is told. As far as we know, he hasn’t made a fuss. What more do you want?
3 April 2013 at 3:07 pm #107418He will be used to replace tired legs towards the end of games because he does chase and hassle players but that is all he does really ! Connor Salmon was keen but couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo and Di Santo is not much different in my view ! If it is goals that we need then I would rely on the youngster from Utd over Di Santo !

If you mean Henriquez – which I’m sure you do – he’s not used because Martinez clearly feels Kone and Di Santo are better than him. He’s been brought in as third choice striker.

Cracking idea to be fair, thinking outside the box.
Why doesn’t bobby use that van persie, or mata eh? Bloody rubbish Martinez!

Don’t know what you’re talking about Phil….3 April 2013 at 4:03 pm #107433He will be used to replace tired legs towards the end of games because he does chase and hassle players but that is all he does really ! Connor Salmon was keen but couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo and Di Santo is not much different in my view ! I thought that he struck up a good understanding with Kone. As I said, I think he is competing for a place with Gomez, not Kone. And I think we will be glad to see his skills again before the season ends.
At Fulham; Kieran Richardson produced an excellent piece of defending when he slid in to deny Di Santo in the penalty area after a storming run forward from James McCarthy, before Maloney shot at the Fulham goalkeeper.
Di Santo, with an exquisite piece of skill, then flicked the ball up and volleyed on the turn but his shot went narrowly wide.
However, Wigan grabbed the goal their play deserved when a quickly taken free-kick allowed Di Santo to cut in from the left-wing, run unchallenged to the edge of the penalty area and blast the ball past Schwarzer for his first Premier League goal since 6 October.
Di Santo had a chance to claim all three points when he again ran at the Fulham defence, created some space and fired a low shot from 12 yards which Schwarzer did well to push wide.
At Reading; Figueroa had not scored a top-flight goal for almost two years but the Honduras left-back was celebrating after firing through Federici’s legs following a clever one-two with Di Santo.

He should play in midfield then if he is that good because his strike rate is piss poor ! Dont be fooled by all that running around ! ;)
By the way, which Prem club would pay decent money for him and pay him a decent wage ? ;)
