reading reports it looks disturbing ?
when brenda rogers left swansea an agreament was signed that he would not return to the club for its players
but not whelan if reports are true he is spouting its ok bob come and sign who you want ,
now its not a way of showing the wigan fans he has still got ambition but strangely the opposite
also unsettling the players at the club
surely stating that keeping old of our finest would be more of a boost for our supporters at a time its needed
i therefore question the mans sanity or is there a hidden agenda of selling of the silverware then doing a runner ?4 June 2013 at 4:39 pm #115324And one of the first things Rodgers did was sign Joe Allen.
Whelan has just cut through the crap. Everybody knows every player at every club has his price. Why pretend differently?

Most can’t be arsed listening to them ;)
4 June 2013 at 5:01 pm #115330If they do say that they won’t be missed, the soft sods.
5 June 2013 at 2:02 am #115356The thing is, Everton don’t have a lot of money to spend. If we ask true value for our players, I can’t see them being able to afford more than 2. Unless Moyes takes Baines and Jagielka and has some money, then he can take Caldwell with pleasure. Bet he don’t come in for Gomez though…….
5 June 2013 at 3:46 am #115359I would have Gomez before any of our mid-fielders. He probably scored more goals than all the others combined.

5 June 2013 at 4:26 am #115367Very very strange comments by Whelan, but there must be something behind them.
First off it appears he’s settled for just £1.5m instead of £2m – shades of the no less than £6m for Chimbonda (and Baines I think).
Then he announces that Bob is going, much to the annoyance of Everton.
Then he says they can try to buy our players but only for the right price (which based on the above will be £1-£2m less than the first price he blurts out.
But he also says that he thinks we have a lot of loyal players.Either he’s gone totally loopy (not unlikely), or he is goading Everton as they have a limited transfer budget, whilst showing any future Wigan manger that there will be a chance for them to stamp their mark, cull unwanted/uncommitted players and generate decent transfer funds.
