Released by United at the end of the season.
Apparently Coyle is looking to bring him to Blackburn
He’s only 22 and scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for us 3 seasons ago.
Would he be worth looking at ?
22 June 2016 at 5:26 pm #149129The lads got talent but his ego gets in the way & he’s a bit of a lazy so & so I think. Steer clear for me..
22 June 2016 at 7:30 pm #149136Do you not think the laziness is due to Coyle’s lack of fitness training ?
23 June 2016 at 1:28 am #149140Do you not think the laziness is due to Coyle’s lack of fitness training ?Billy big bollocks attitude got him fired off from Leicester and I believe he also clashed with management whilst with us and was subsequently dropped! Wouldn’t touch him with a bargepole!
23 June 2016 at 12:24 pm #149144Thing is, when he was with us & leicester he was still a united player & as result, probably thought he was better than any wigan & leicester player. Now he has been released by united this might make him realise that he isnt as good as what HE thinks he is & hence, abolish his jonny big bollox attitude. IMO he is a good player for a team like ourselves.
Also, i believe a manager like coyle to be not very good with the man management skills, whereas i believe caldwell is. Furthermore, when he was last with us he didnt really have any competition for his position. Now he has.

23 June 2016 at 5:13 pm #149153Do you not think the laziness is due to Coyle’s lack of fitness training ?Nope, it was definitely his ego that got in the way.
Reports say Blackburn are looking at him so maybe he might now realize he’s not that good and start trying? But would rather watch him try on the football league show rather than at the DW.

If I remember rightly, pretty soon after Rosler arrived it was announced that he had been playing with an injury & was to be rested to let him recover from it.
By the time he regained fitness Latics were on a roll & he didn’t get his starting place back. That’s for me when the attitude problems seemed to rear their head & the level of his performances dropped.23 June 2016 at 9:52 pm #149166Do you not think the laziness is due to Coyle’s lack of fitness training ?

They’ve signed Danny Graham so their interest may have waned.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!23 June 2016 at 11:21 pm #149169I don’t think Caldwell would go near him.
We just signed this Dan Burn, and Caldwell said of him:
“He fits our profile exactly, young, hungry and with experience at this level and the desire to progress with us”
Somehow I cant see that applying to Powell.

Graham could be a good signing for them? But Powell is a midfielder by trade & with Coyle back there it still could happen.
