      Guys,

Been away a long while, and never posted much anyway…but the site is rather quiet…here goes, be gentle!

Burn seems dodgy and I don’t believe that he is any better than Pearce. Retrograde step.

Wildshutt is possibly the most annoying player I have ever seen. Talk about flatter to deceive. His work on wings and beating the man for pace/power is superb, but the final ball/finish dreadful. So frustrating. As a fan I appreciate he does create excitement, but for the team I wonder if a steady eddie type who does all moderately well would be better.

      Up the tics

      Cheers

Maybe if he went back to playing consistently as a left midfielder (winger) Yan would re-gain his top form.
If you want to play a player as a second striker or behind the lone striker we should consider another striker or an attacking central midfielder. Likewise if we want a player to play as right wing back or right back or right wing or as a right sided midfielder play a right sided player. Yesterday we had Powell on the bench who could have been supporting Will. We had two left backs/left wing backs in the side. We had a right sided defender on the bench and yes we played Yanic on the right. Play to our strengths and play players consistently together and in position and the points are there for the taking.
Watch for changes again next week.

I listened to the 1st half on wish as i was back in work at 4. Jake buxton was the co-commentator & i think it was he who stated that whilst wildschutt is exciting down the flanks, his final ball (& in some respects his decision making IMO) lets him down. Thats why he plays at this level & not in the premier league.

As for burn, i saw him for the first time vs brum & not since titus bramble have i been nervous about one of our defenders. I have yet to see buxton so cant comment on whether he is better or not.

But to be fair, we have signed a few new faces. It takes time for some players to find their feet at a new club, & what people have to remember is that we are no longer a league 1 club. The standard of football is a lot higher. We are playing clubs who the majority at a guess, have played in the premier league. Last season it took us a while to get going. Give the lads a chance.

I agree with donny. Wildschutt is NOT a wing-back.

Only seen one game so far an at Bristol Burn didn’t seem too bad. But heard a lot of others say he is poor? Watched the highlights of the Forrest game and his attempted back pass was a real shocker.. Pearce will be a big miss, didn’t someone say he’d fallen out with Caldwell?

Yanics pace is his best asset, his close control / skill isn’t that good. Once the team settles and he plays a regular position on the wing he might become a bit more consistent.

Yep it was me that said that Pearce had a fall out with Caldwell after a pre season friendly.
Next thing we know he was on his bike to Charlton to be near his family.
The lad was gutted when leaving, dont believe everything the club says to the press.

            Fuck the EFL

Ok cheers Bullitt. Thought it odd when I first heard the story. Must have been some fall out to get rid of your best defender! GC’s paying a price at the mo.
I hope he gives jack Hendry a run out, could be his saviour as he looks good, on first first impression anyway.

Agree with giving Hendry a chance, in my opinion he couldnt do any worse than Burn, Morgan doesnt seem comfortable playing with Burn either.
Morgan and Pearce played well together last season.

Correct. His pace is always a danger though.

Yans pace is a massive asset even if his finishing or final ball isn’t up to scratch. His pace can also draw opposition players out of position leaving gaps for our other attacking players.
Love to see him as an out and out winger with an out and out left back connecting with him or overlapping. Maybe with two strikers too.
I have heard rumours that managers and coaches are trying this new kind of formation. It’s called 4-4-2 and it sounds like it is going to take football by storm.

                    #150153

Wildshutt is a typical winger – Frustrating. Yes he has pace but thats it.No end product 80% of the time. I can never understand how the sponsers usually make him MOTM.

The East Stand get it right NA NA NA NA NA etc That all he does kick it forward and runs down the wing ………………….. Birmingham had him sussed. They doubled up.He was totally ineffective. Expect that from most teams.

If he was really good he’d have been playing at Sunderland today not at Forest yesterday.

Having seen him 3 times Burn looks like he’s going to be a real liability I’m afraid. He’s appears to be too slow and seems to lack the necessary mobility on the floor for this level. Not impressed. :(

Exactly the same happened at Bristol Argus. Yanic swapped wings and even went up front but still nothing.
If that will be a regular tactic by opposing teams then he needs others playing off him.

This formation topic goes on at all levels of footy Donny. Watched Weymouth play Redditch last week and their fans were moaning about not playing 442… :)
They too had one up front.

Argus the answer is blowing free and I am sure the king will come.
You hit the nail ont head, Birmingham doubled up so he is taking two players out.
