Just made a nit of myself. Saw Wigan were playing hull, looked at the weather and thought, ‘thats the pitch done for’ ….. Don’t need to say the rest!

Maybe this is the shape of things to come.

Yet the champions don’t come from either state.

Pointless exercise but they will say that 9k of that crowd didnt come from the uk and we have got 2 main sponsors from it so maybe it was worthwhile.

Not a fan of taking any home game away from wigan though.

Only a matter of time before a Premier League game is played abroad.

Money rules, and Sky Sports dictates. Not noticed how they’ve started stirring trouble about players celebrations and things, creating controversy? Sad thing is, F.A. are pandering to them by listening to them and reacting.

Just tell them to shut up and carry on showing games, and not trying to cause trouble.

Be fair though. It is a long way from Scholes and Whelley.

I agree. We are not going to attract fans or sponsors from Australia in sufficient quantities to justify any future trips, but if the RFL want to play a game “on the road” in Australia, then that’s fine by me – just make sure the next one involves any side except Wigan giving up home advantage and a home game on the Season Ticket card. We’ve done more than our fair share of expansion efforts – maybe Leeds or Saints could have a go now…

That said, two points is two points. I’d like to see the reserves turn out next week so when we play Warrington in a fortnight, there is only the jetlag to contend with!

Certainley in this country you are, there is no one doubting that, but down under??
They didnt exactly turn their barbecues off and throw their surf boards away did they?
There are 1,300,000 Btitish citizens living in Australia and a further 23,000,000 Australians.
It kind of puts into context how interested Australia was in the RL giants of Great Britain when only 12000 people turn up, and that’s in a country where it is the national sport.
How many years have they been trying to promote this tin pot minority regionalised sport?
You would think the powers that be would have got the message by now that other than a few pit villages in Lancashire and Yorkshire, nobody really gives a fuck about RL.

Different scale but it is exactly the same as the NFL playing at Wembley

RL is just about as popular as black pudding throwing !

Most aussies would name wigan first if you asked them to name british clubs. They dont think anything of our comp though and see it as footballs version of league 2. How many football fans would turn out in say america to watch lincoln v luton?

I do agree on promoting it though. Stick to the places that play it and like it and develop them first.

It the same thing when it comes to the ‘magic’ weekend bollox and all the clubs lose another home match when one man and his dog toddle off to the RL hot beds of Cardiff, Edinburgh or Newcastle. What the fuck is that about?
When you divide the amount of matches played by the total attendance, the average attendance is probably less than 10,000 per match, made up of poor twats having to travel 200 miles or more just to see a run of the mill home game, whats the point?
WW then have the cheek to add the total attendance as a home gate when working out their average for the season as if no one else played. No one is interested, they never have been, and never will be interested in these cities.
Get yourself on the RL board of Great Britain Egg and sort the idiots out.
