Can we overcome the distraction of the FA Cup & get back to playing some sleek & pacey footy tomorrow, hope so!
Stats..
Scunthorpe:
Not won in last 5
Won 2 in last 12
Only won 2 league games in 2018 (played 11)Wigan:
Won 2 in last 5
Won 6 in last 12
Won 4 league games in 2018 (played 8)Now my predictions have been crap so far, so I’m going for a draw
10 March 2018 at 2:50 am #167214Apart from the FA cup and the first half against Gillingham when was the last time we played in that manner at home?

10 March 2018 at 12:52 pm #167216Apart from the FA cup and the first half against Gillingham when was the last time we played in that manner at home?Donny, at this stage of the season, performances do not matter. Wins & points matter. Would you rather we play well & lose??
10 March 2018 at 1:28 pm #167217Course I want the wins however we come but I was replying to the point of us getting back to playing sleek and pacey football. We haven’t really played that way at home in the league for a long time at home. But yes wins all add up no matter how we get them.
10 March 2018 at 1:57 pm #167220Time for us to turn up the heat and melt the iron………….I’ll get me coat.
10 March 2018 at 10:32 pm #167236Apart from the FA cup and the first half against Gillingham when was the last time we played in that manner at home? We’ve played some good football this season Donny. Try getting to some away games and you will see.
That said after today we defo won’t be going up, terrible.
10 March 2018 at 10:56 pm #167241Walker the obvious one , Colclough maybe…. Cole … why not ? but PerkinsWTF ?
Very warm. Why play Power as a right sided attacking midfielder and replace him with Perks as defensive midfielder. May as well have just kept Massey in the side or a straight swap for either Walker, Colclough, Roberts or Vaughan. A stupid move which almost cost us the match.
To be fair to Scunthorpe they were the better side and played the better style of football which put our dour passing and unurgent style to shame. Well done Graham Alexandra, that is the way to play football.
Individualy there were some really poor performances today and what a bloody bore we were. Shambolic defending and the petulence shown by Morsy and Powell just isnt needed. Sell the pair in May please.11 March 2018 at 12:19 am #167244Sell Morsy and Powell? Really?

Some massive over reactions again but that quote topped them all

Give your head a wobble. In retrospect, not selling Powell in January has proven a critical strategic mistake. Even putting the money aside, his performances these past months have been well below par. This is the time of season when the big players step up and win you games. Wildschut did it a few seasons back, Dack is doing it now. Meanwhile I can’t remember the last time Powell created a goal, let alone scored.
With others out of form too, sticking with a similar starting eleven, is making us look predictable and out of ideas. Vaughan, and to a lesser extent Walker, have had a major impact in their last two games. Yet both aren’t starting as we’re trying to accommodate an out of form Powell and Jacobs.
At the end of the season it’s top two or bust. Many of these players will be off without new investment. As it stands our form won’t be good enough for a top two spot. So there’s no point saying any player is untouchable……results speak for themselves.

Why is everyone picking on Powell? He is the only player even when not playing his best that looks like he may create something. The lad is class, but too much is expected of him from the fans and more importantly his colleagues.
He is having to do the work of all the rest of the midfield at the moment, I can’t remember the last time Morsy crossed the halfway line.
Power, Morsy, Perkins and Jacobs have offered far less than Powell yesterday.11 March 2018 at 9:01 pm #167289I agree but even so he is a shadow of his early season form.Dack is dynamic and makes things happen at pace, defenders cannot settle when he’s on form.Powell seems to be lethargic and certainly doesn’t fire the team into life at present.Yes not helped by the poor assistance but he really does need to up his game.
