I agree but even so he is a shadow of his early season form.Dack is dynamic and makes things happen at pace, defenders cannot settle when he’s on form.Powell seems to be lethargic and certainly doesn’t fire the team into life at present.Yes not helped by the poor assistance but he really does need to up his game.

He can only make things happen if the rest of the midfield and forward line take a bit of pressure off him by helping him out every now and again. The rest need to get forward to support him and get into decent positions for him to get the ball to. Nobody apart from Grigg ever seems to give him an out let.
Has Sam Morsy passed a ball forwrd yet this season? If he has, I can’t remember it, but the sun shines out of his arse with most fans.

Losing Evans in the January window and not replacing him with someone comparable has been a big blow.

I think you have a good point there Sammy. I think the club were expectin McDonald back to fill that gap, but his latest set back seems to be bigger than was first thought.

I’d like Roberts to have a run out.Loads of experience and wily with it.Pulls defenders out of position, cons free kicks. As well as being fresh he could be a big asset in tbe run in.

I thought Evans was our best midfield player. He and Morsy complimented each other. Morsy influence has diminished since his departure and his absence is beginning to show.

He was one who could have been used yesterday on the right rather than taking the shape out of the side by playing Power there. Daftest decision this season that.

Strange that we didn’t buy him ourselves whilst he was with us.

At this level you can’t beat pace and power. Scunthorpe caused us huge problems, as did Blackburn the week before. Bradford and Peterborough have also looked excellent going forward.

We have to play with two out and out wingers. It’s also increasingly clear we need two up top, either a traditional pairing like Grigg and Vaughan, or someone sitting behind the lead striker like Powell or Walker. It’s too easy for the opposition to smother out attacks and gain a foothold in the game. Not since well before Christmas have I seen us totally dominate a team at home.

Don’t think we will ever be treated to football like that again SH but it would help our cause if Michael Jacobs was more consistent when he goes out wide and if Byrne could be a little more consistent as a wing back.
Dip in form is worrying though but Saturday saw us play a decent side who exploited the defensive mistakes not helped by Paul Cooks cock up of playing the wrong right sided midfielder and and weakening the defensive midfield at the same time.
Don’t forget we weren’t that brilliant against Rochdale without Massey but Colclough would have looked better that day if he had had Byrne supporting him on the right like he did in the first half against Gillingham.

I make you spot on horc but is it down to players off form or as is more likely they are playing to the gaffers tactics?. The likes of Powell Morsy etc have not become bad players overnight. Maybe Cookie is trying to get through games while conserving as much energy as possible. Tactical subtle changes in the knowledge that we have a lot of games still to get through. We are on a run of games against the better sides so he cannot risk wholesale changes but he has also got to keep the lads as fresh as possible. Just a thought.
