Seems strange he would be left out completely if he is supposedly that good. Cook hasn’t played many of our young lads but giving this lad a game is no different to picking James week in week out if he is as good as Evertonians say he is.
I think in our situation a lot has to do with nerves and temperament. Not all young players can play without fear like Reece James, so this is where a bit of experience comes in. However, not all experieced players are wise heads either.
The way we keep picking up injuries its like a lucky dip who plays one week to the next.There has to be a reason why we lose so many points in the last ten minutes of a game. Cookie said he would blood the kids once we are safe that is fact. Obviously then he doesn’t trust them enough to risk any of them. I’ve thought all along that we have a fitness problem and that’s the reason we fade towards the end of a game. I,m of the opinion that a number of senior players are not 100 per cent.
I’d be surprised if anyone is 100% at this stage of the season that just stands to reason.
The one issue I would have with Cook is that he seems to follow the trend of the GPS trackers and makes his selections/substitutions based on who is tired according to a laptop and not the player themselves or the way the game is going.
Simon Haworth would have never played under Cook for example.

Your probably spot on egg imagine a player like Jimmy Greaves being around today, he admitted he shirked off training and was lazy but boy was he a class striker. I think Cookie trusts certain players too much and that affects his selections and substitutions which at times are baffling.
